Luxury sex den, torture room found in Tawau

One of the three premises raided by immigration officers is believed to have offered sex services costing thousands of ringgit

TAWAU - Three suspected sex premises with a torture room hidden behind the facade of a health spa were discovered by immigration officers during a raid in the Takada area here on Monday night.

Twelve Filipinas and six Thai and one Indonesian women, aged from 19 to 60, suspected to be massage, customer service and sex workers, were picked up during the 10.30pm raid.

“All the women detained either had no valid travel documents or had abused their social visit passes,” Tawau immigration chief Noraini Rasi told FMT.

Three local men suspected to be the premises owners and six Filipinos believed to be customers were also arrested.

The raiding party also found a room equipped with CCTVs to monitor the premises.

Apart from the massage and reflexology services, Noraini said one of the three-storey premises was believed to have offered sex services costing thousands of ringgit in a luxurious and exclusive room.

Asked whether the “torture room” was used to “discipline” uncooperative sex workers or to offer bondage sex to clients, Noraini said investigations were still ongoing.

All of those arrested were taken to the Tawau Temporary Detention Centre for further investigation.
