Kota Kinabalu: There is conclusive proof that some DAP leaders colluded with Umno to finish off Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) as revealed by Barisan National (BN) openly returning thanks to DAP by Chief Minister Musa Aman and Sekong Assemblyman Shamsuddin Yahya after the 2010 Batu Sapi by-election.
“In spite of the betrayals and hurtful attacks, we again rebuild our relationship with PKR, DAP and PAS to prepare for the coming general election. Things became more cordial after Jimmy Wong Szi Phin and Dr Wan became heads of the Sabah DAP and PKR respectively, early this year,” said SAPP Information Chief, Chong Pit Fah.
“We attended every Pakatan Rakyat function that we were invited to so as to build goodwill and mutual confidence.”
“It is in the same spirit that SAPP senior leaders, including the President, a Deputy President, three Vice Presidents, secretary-general, an MP and other leaders attended the DAP Ka’amatan festival. What happened there was totally unexpected which we do not wish to elaborate here because we agree with Jimmy Wong that we must move forward in fighting the BN,” he said.
In this respect, he said SAPP welcomed the tone of Wong to improve relationships between DAP and SAPP.
“In fact, this is exactly what SAPP has been doing,” he said in a statement Friday.
He said SAPP invited Pakatan leaders to its “Sabah Issues” conference on Aug 31, 2008 and SAPP later participated in the 2008 DAP “September 16 Rally” at Kian Kok School when DAP supremo called for a Pakatan-plus alliance with SAPP.
“We can live with Lim’s Pakatan-plus formula. Even after Pakatan’s “September 16” (916 Change) had failed, SAPP went ahead and withdrew from the incumbent BN government on September 17, the only party ever to leave a government.
“In spite of the adverse consequences to its leaders and members at all levels, SAPP carried on with fighting spirit and building bridges to PKR, DAP, PAS and SNAP,” he said.
Chong said there had been countless meetings between Pakatan and SAPP leaders in Kota Kinabalu and KL, including attending the PKR convention at Shah Alam.
But after the super success at Sarawak, DAP has dropped its Pakatan-plus formula because DAP is now super confident that it can win in the urban seats even in three-cornered contests against the BN. However, SAPP believed that this will be a repeat of “Sarawak 416” whereby DAP’s two parties system becomes a Chinese opposition and Bumiputra government.
As for Wong’s call to SAPP to change its ideology, there is nothing to change.
“Our party’s Eight Points Peoples” Declaration for Change advocates non-racial politics, autonomy, Borneonisation, redress imbalances, solve the illegal immigrants problem, 20 percent oil royalties, return of Labuan and review of unfair laws and policies that are detrimental to Sabah.
Borneonisation mean time to send all the KL based parties back to west malaysia for good. The misery that they have done to our beloved state of Sabah is truly shameful to think of.
ReplyDeleteDap is hoping to be get most of the Chinese support to win their seats and negotiate with Umno to join BN eventually.
ReplyDeleteSabah DAP merely a trojan horse among the oppositions in Sabah.
ReplyDeleteDispite their denial the truth will speak.
