Brunei Smartest, Singapore Smarter, Sarawak Stupid, Sabah Most Stupid Beyond Redemption!! (Part-1. Brunei)

Benjamin Loi
I don't have to be a Malaysian history expert or professor to talk about the formation of Malaysia. Tunku Abdul Rahman "invited" Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore to form "Federation of Malaysia" with Malaya. Therefore, Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore could have more privileges and special rights than "any of the states in Malaya", in short, they should not be deemed as just one of the states in the Federation of Malaysia, they ought to be treated as a "treaty-member" with Malaya!

Let's look at Brunei in Part-1:
-------------------------------------------

The Brunei Sultanate would have ceased to exist as an independent state without Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saiffuddien.

In August 1963, Indonesia was opposing the proposed Federation of Malaysia and confronting Malaya and Singapore. Only eight months earlier, on 8 December 1962, Brunei had faced a revolt by Sheikh Azahari of the Partai Rakyat Brunei (PRB) and British forces from Singapore had flown in to put down the rebellion.

It was a time of great peril when the Sultan decided not to join the proposed Federation. Singapore went ahead and joined the Federation. Sultan Omar Ali was under great pressure from the British who had hinted that they would be leaving the region soon. But he stood firm.

He put his position as Sultan and the fate of his people on the line. His judgment was that the British would be responsible enough to give him some time to get his country in better shape before British forces left.

The late Sultan was a modest man. He was soft-spoken, with a frequent smile when speaking to his friends.

He lived a simple and frugal life.

On May 1961, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the Malayan Prime Minister, at an address to the Foreign
Correspondents Association in Singapore, mooted the formation of Malaysia, to include Brunei, Sarawak, North Borneo (subsequently to be named Sabah), Singapore and Malaya.

On 5 December 1961, Sultan Sir Omar Ali described the Malaysia proposal as very attractive. In January 1962, he appointed a Brunei-Malaysia Commission to report on the opinion of the people. On 18 July 1962, the Sultan stated that he accepted the Malaysia proposal in principal, but that did not necessarily mean it was final.

If agreement could not be reached on important conditions affecting benefits to the people and the state, Brunei would not participate in the Malaysia plan.

In August 1962, the Partai Rakyat Brunei (PRB) won a landslide election victory in four District Councils, which in turn would choose 16 members for the Legislative Council (LegCo). The PRB won 54 seats and had all the 16 members required for the LegCo.

But they could not form the government. The 17 government nominees outnumbered the PRB in the 33-member Council. Sheikh Azahari, leader of the PRB, rejected the proposal that Brunei join the proposed Malaysian Federation.

Azahari put forward three motions at the LegCo meeting, for 5 December 1962; first, to reject the proposal of a Malaysian Federation; second, to request the restoration of Brunei's sovereignty over Sarawak and North Borneo and the installation of the Sultan as constitutional monarch of the North Borneo Federation; and third, a request to the British to grant independence to Brunei not later than 1963.

The Speaker of the LegCo disallowed the motions because the issues fell within the purview of the British government under the 1959 British-Brunei Agreement. Sheikh Azahari, the PRB leader then decided to resort to a military solution and staged a rebellion led by its military wing, Tentera Nasional Kalimantan Utara (TNKU).

The revolt began on December 8. It was put down in short order by British forces flown in from Singapore.

On 20 December, Sultan Omar Ali declared a State of Emergency, suspended the Constitution, dissolved the LegCo, and appointed a 14-member Emergency Council comprising four ex-officio members, including the British High Commissioner, Sir Denis White, and 10 members nominated by the Sultan.

Negotiations on Malaysia were resumed in earnest following the end of the rebellion. The sultan did not accept the terms that Malaya offered him. When the Malaysia Agreement was signed on 9 July 1963 in London, Singapore, North Borneo and Sarawak signed on. Brunei did not. He was very firm in his decision not to join. As a result, after Malaysia was formed on 16 September 1963, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, recalled hundreds of Malaysian teachers and government officers seconded to serve the Brunei administration. Their departure caused a temporary dislocation in Brunei.

Several accounts were given to explain the reason for Brunei's decision not to join the Malaysian Federation. One account cited disagreement over oil revenues as the primary cause. Kuala Lumpur wanted Brunei to hand over control of its oil to the federal government after 10 years. Kuala Lumpur also wanted to immediately tax any new oil and mineral finds discovered after Brunei joined Malaysia and to make the Sultan's contribution of $40 million to the federal revenues compulsory rather than voluntary. The Sultan was said to have found these terms unacceptable.

Another account from Kuala Lumpur alluded to the Sultan's unhappiness over the issue of royal precedence.

Sir Omar was neither willing to compromise Brunei's control over its oil revenues nor ready to have his privileges as the Ruler of Brunei curtailed. More to the point, the vibes that Sultan Omar Ali felt during the negotiations were that he would become subordinate to Kuala Lumpur's leaders and he would rank behind Malaysian's nine Sultans in seniority, besides giving up a chunk of this oil wealth to KL. He met Lee Kuan Yuan soon after Singapore was asked to leave Malaysia in August 1965, he nodded with satisfaction that his decision not to join was wiser than Singapore's acceptance of Malaysia.

Just over two months after Malaysia was formed, on 1 December 1963, the British Colonial Office cut its long-term connection with Brunei. The British High Commissioner in Brunei, no longer called the British Resident, henceforth would deal with Secretary of State for Commonwealth.

When the Labour Government took office in 1964, it became clear that sooner or later they would withdraw their forces from east of Suez. This would jeopardise Brunei's secure position as a protectorate. British advisers pressed the Sultan to hasten the implementation of constitutional reforms so that there could be a democratic government in place. In March 1965, a second general election was held for District and Legislative Councillors. 36 candidates contested for 10 LegCo seats in the 21-member LegCo that would comprise six ex-officio members and five members nominated by the Sultan. 88 candidates fought for seats in four Districts Councils. A large number of candidates contesting under political parties were defeated by independents because the political parties were weak.

On 4 October 1967, Sultan Omar Ali, then aged only 53, abdicated in favour of his 21-year-old son, Hassanal Bolkiah, born on July 1946. It was a strategic move he made to buy time before a British withdrawal. Protracted negotiations with the British on Brunei's future continued following the abdication. The Sultan, now the Seri Begawan, dragged out the discussions. He wanted the son to get familiar with the administration. Moreover, his son was only 21 years old. He deflected pressure to adopt the British adversarial Parliamentary system.

He argued with the British that he needed a few years for the young Sultan to learn the ropes and strengthen the domestic situation ahead of any constitutional changes. He bought time from 1963 to 1983, over 20 years, when the British finally withdrew, and Brunei became an independent state. Without the skilful and determined stand taken by Sultan Omar Ali in the full knowledge that he was risking the future of his Sultanate if the British were to leave precipitately, he saved his dynasty, delayed majority rule before Brunei was ready, and secured Brunei's continued defence by an agreement to pay for one British Gurkha battalion that would stay in Brunei but under British control. A discreet presence remained.

The Seri Begawan has preserved Brunei's oil wealth. He left the bulk of his country's reserves with the Crown Agents to manage. He was fortunate that Britain acted with responsibility. Most of all, the Seri Begawan played his hand with considerable skill. He pleaded for time to educate enough local Bruneians who could manage the administration of the country.

Less than three years after independence, on 7 September, 1986, he passed away. He was deeply mourned by the people of Brunei. They knew that he had saved their independence and are able to live as they wish, keeping their oil wealth. It was Sir Omar's statecraft. He built the infrastructure of state. By the 1980s, he had given the sultanate's 200,000 people a high per capita income of US$20,000, among the world's most privileged. He strengthened Brunei's Islamic institutions.

Sultan Omar Ali took calculated risks with courage. He has a keen sense of what was politically possible. During the 17 years from 1950 to 1967, he brought economic, social and political developments to Brunei. With two Five-Year Development Plans, he provided for an education system throughout the state.

He built schools to teach English, gave scholarships to promising young students to study in overseas institutions. He provided school children with at least one free meal a day. Religious schools were given high priority. Hospitals, clinics were set up and dental services to schools were provided.

He eradicated dysentery and malaria. He provided electricity for the whole state. He developed the roads and telecommunication system. He reclaimed swamp lands and resettled people.

He set up the Royal Brunei Malay Regiment in 1961, which evolved into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The Currency Board was established in 1967. Sultan Omar Ali has ensured the survival of an independent Malay Muslim monarchy at the end of the 20th century.

He has built a strong foundation before passing the mantle to his eldest son. His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has guided Brunei since independence in 1984, a 25-year period, during which Brunei has progressed in material and social terms.

The old Sultan would have been happy to know that an independent Sultanate in Brunei has progressed in the quarter century after independence. His son, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, has preserved his heritage. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has continued to expand the numbers of abler Bruneians who are educated abroad, and created a thicker layer of the higher educated and well-informed elite.

In December 1964, a year after Malaysia was formed, the Malaysian government decided to terminate the Board of Commissioners of Currency and to issue a new currency for Malaya, Singapore and the Borneo territories, including Brunei.

The Malaya-British Borneo Currency Agreement was terminated two years later. The Malaysian government in Kuala Lumpur declined Brunei's request that it be given a seat on the policy-making body. Also, Malaysia opposed Brunei's request that the portrait of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia should not appear on the new notes. Hence, Brunei enacted legislation in January 1967 to form its own Currency Board.

During one of the Sultan Haji Omar Ali visits to Singapore after independence, he had smiled broadly and, with his eyes twinkling and his moustache twitching, saying to Lee Kuan Yew, "You are now like Brunei. It is better for you."

If Brunei joined the Federation of Malaysia, the state of Brunei would be poorer, much much poorer! And we the West Malaysians would be much much happier to have another obedient and stupid natural resources supplier, at cheapest cost! sigh, we failed to con them into our "Malaysia Plot" and now better known as "1Malaysia Plot"...

  1. I just failed to comprehend what this nincompoop writer is trying to convey.Another boring history lessons?Whats Brunei history got to do with Sabah? Is he trying to imply the Bruneians are smarter and Sabahans are dumb and stupid? If so then suck my cock and begone!

Sabahans shaped their destiny in the way they thing most appropriate at that particular time.It was the best options on the table, they deliberate and took the path they thought was best for the state and people. To question it now is to take away the honours, contributions and respect that our previous leaders had given us,Sabahans and for which we are most grateful to them. What would happen had they not take the path they did?Its anybody's wild guess. We could be absorbed into the power of another country, remains a slave of the British Empire till now or be part of the Sulu Sultanate. But here we are now, being part of a great country and living in peace and harmony. We should therefore not rock the boat.

The hue and cry of dissatisfactions towards the government is normal in a democratic country like us.It is an election fever that grips the nation and therefore it is only normal that every parties try to score political mileage by bringing up issues they think will give them the votes. Its non-alarming so it is the last thing that we want anyone to stir-up the feelings of the people by telling them bed-time history lessons that will not bring any consequence to their feelings and aspirations of a better Malaysia.

The fact that some of the political leaders are voicing their concerns on some issues are reflective of the success of our government policies in many aspects especially the country's education system. They are smarter, exposed able to apply their thoughts, their minds on issues confronting us.They are the 'healthy seeds' borne as a result of the country's good governance,by a government that is caring and responsible that it became the envy of many nations on earth. The government on the other hand is not asking anything in return but gives them the freedom of choice and movements unlike many in other countries that forbid their citizens such privileges. There is a saying that' people would not appreciate whats freedom means until it is taken away from them.'We have everything here in a country called Malaysia. We cannot ask for more.

It is understandable that in a country of 29 million, spread across wide demographic in 13 states,multi-cultural and multi-religious there are bound to be multitude of issues in hand. But Malaysians are tolerant society having live, work and play side-by-side for more than 50 years. It is solidly embedded as Mt Kinabalu and no one could shake such a strong foundation, try they may be.Malaysians love their country so much that everything else is just a storm in a teacup,a hiccup that can disappear as fast as they came.No one therefore should bother to influence our minds, our thoughts with senseless history as the real history we Malaysians want to write is of the bright future of tomorrow,a clear visions that will bring the people to greater heights, not only to us but the generations to come.Thats the history we want to create for our children and their children to read in the years to come.

    1. THANKS BENJAMIN FOR THE BRUNEI INFORMATION-
NEVER GIVE AWAY YOUR VALUED POSSESSIONS!
THE LATE SULTAN OF BRUNEI MADE CORRECT & WISE DECISIONS- BUT WHAT HAS BRUNEI HISTORY GOT TO DO WITH SABAH/SARAWAK?
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a very relevant question.

Without knowing what the next installment is, one could still perhaps add an opinion different from what the pathetically slavish pro-UMNO colonialist ideologues and some ignoramuses expressed here.

First, we should acknowledge that Brunei (and definitely NOT Malaya!) is the mother of Sabah and Sarawak. They were part of the 15th Century Brunei Empire. So Sabah and Sarawak are historically siblings which were separated by colonialism in the 19th century. The writer has given as fair outline of Brunei's modern history so far. This part of history should be clear.

Through Brooke conquest Sarawak became an independent state of the "White Rajahs" recognized by the Brunei Sultanate from 1842 and also Britain in 1863. They may have come as colonialists but stayed to develop Sarawak and protected it from plunder. Their legacy was the Sarawak Land Code recognizing the sovereignty of NCR land. Unfortunately local land robbers aided by UMNO have changed the law and robbed the people of their ancestral land.

Present day Sabah came into being after being traded around by Europeans powers and then finally became a British colony in 1946.

Brunei Sabah and Sarawak shared a common history and if the Federation of Northern Borneo or North Kalimantan (we should not be shy to use this correct description of what is our country) had been agreed to by the Sultan in the 1960s, we would have shared a common destiny. The TNKU Uprising spreading from Brunei to Sabah and Sarawak was to liberate the 3 colonies.

BPP leader AM Azahari's North Kalimantan Federation proposal was welcomed by the independence movement in Sarawak but not the British who were fighting the anti-communist Cold War and the Malayan "Emergency".

After the British/Malayan suppression of the TNKU which took a few months, the Sarawak independence movement carried forward the struggle for independent North Kalimantan. It was a guerrilla war lasting from 1962 to 1990. This was the war conducted by the People's Army of North Kalimantan (PARAKU).

We can see that the history of the 3 territories are intertwined.

An examination of Malaysia today also needs a closer examination of the FALSE rationales used by the British/UMNO to justify their desire to re-colonize North Kalimantan. As said in the article the Malayan colonialists already had their eyes on our oil resources from day ONE!

That is why Brunei was the “SMARTEST” of the 3 British colonies in the 1960s and stayed out of being snared into Malaysia! Singapore's early departure from Malaysia confirmed the Sultan's worse suspicions that Malaya would try to dominate all the other “equal partners”. It was aiming for complete “takeover”!

As for us in Sabah and Sarawak we had the greatest misfortune to have STUPID leaders who sold out without much fight. Stephen K Ningkan and Donald Stephens both resisted and they were got rid off by UMNO – one by a constitutional coup and the other in a plane explosion.

So let's hope that the next installment will look at the rationales for the British/Umno “formation” of Malaysia and scare the people into agreeing with them. These rationales were based on the "racial Balance" argument. the foreign invasion and red scare and promises that Malaysia would bring economic socio and political advancement/progress...

      Delete
    2. FALSE RATIONALES USED TO JUSTIFY BRITISH/MALAYAN CREATION OF NEO-COLONIAL MALAYSIA!

The main "Malaysia" rationales are summarized here:

      1. Racial Balance rationale- Malaya saw that Brunei Sabah and Sarawak would “help” Malaya to balance the racial proportion against Singapore by their being part of Malaysia!

Why should we oblige the Malayans by giving up our own independence? This argument was also used to scare the natives in Borneo with the “Chinese” domination scare.

The rationale fell flat on its face because Brunei did not “join” in 1963 and Singapore left in 1965. The British and Malaya went ahead to impose their idea in 1963 despite the rationales was no longer supported by the facts. So we became dominated by the Malayan majority!

The off shoot of this rationale is the illegal migrant issue which is part and parcel of the UMNO Malay supremacist ideology now enforced in Malaya and Sabah/Sarawak colonies. This is to use the Malay Muslim majority argument to justify dominance of UMNO over "pendatangs". Sabah/Sarawak tribal people have been used by UMNO in the numbers game but have increasingly provide restless because of the failure of the Malaysia Concept to benefit them. So UMNO resorted to amss importing of illegals to strengthen its voting base. The UMNO PBB BN "SCORE" Plan is the next step to flood Sarawak with UMNO instant voters.

      2. Common security from foreign invasion and communist takeover scares. Indonesian “Ganyang Malaysia” campaign or “Konfrontasi” was to assist us in the fight for independence. For all its good intentions, it became a great reason for the British to scare us into “joining”. If Sukarno had kept it as diplomatic campaign and not military – things might have been slightly different although the British would in any case exploit this to the full extent.

The communist takeover scare was part of the Cold War “Domino theory” rhetorics coupled with a hot war in Malaya against the CPM. Later the guerrilla war in Sarawak led by the Communist Party of North Kalimantan enhanced the “red scare”. It must be said that both wars were to liberate Malaya and North Kalimantan for independence from foreign domination.

      3. Promise of economic socio and political advancement. Breaches of the Malaysia Agreement and 18/20 Points Agreements coupled with the outright plunder of Sabah/Sarawak resources by UMNO and its local proxy regimes attest to the promises made and never intended to be kept. The looting was dressed up as “development” which on the face of it was part keeping such promises!

Further, it may not occur to some that the slogan "Independence in Malaysia" is a self contradictory statement. How can we be "independent" when we are dominated and ruled by UMNO Malaya? We should not be confused. We have been re-colonized.

For those who wish to ignore history, they can live with their blindness but the past will always come back to haunt the perpetrators of the injustice of imposing Malaysia on Sabah and Sarawak!

If Sabahans and Sarawakians still do not see that Malaysia has been a big British/UMNO fraud and con job on them to loot and dispossess them of independence land and wealth and unite to resist Malayan colonization, they will deserve to lose everything they have regardless of their race religion or politics! Then they will really be stupid!

SHOULD vs SHALL ~ A Consideration for Point 7: Right of Secession
    =====================
    Point 7: Right of Secession
There should be no right to secede from the Federation.
    ======================
We should take a positive view of the "no right to secede" initiative, which is worth considering despite its affirmation in Point 7 which speaks of the Sabahan and Sarawakian rights to secede from the Federation of Malaysia This is so because “the use [by Point 7] of the word ‘’should’ (as opposed to the word ‘shall,’ for example) turns the option of "NO RIGHT TO SECEDE" into a mere recommendation.”
You see.. Diplomatic documents often demand close linguistic analysis. Would that Point 7 have meant something else, had it said that “There SHALL be no right to secede from the Federation.”?

Since the auxiliary verbs “shall” and “shan’t” have all but disappeared from American English, in much of Great Britain they are still in common use. The facts that the 18/20 Points Agreement was an Agreement relating to Malaysia between United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Federation of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore, it’s British usage that counts — and when it comes to that, what greater authorities do we have than the estimable Fowler brothers, F.G. and H.W., whose “The King’s English” (first edition published by Oxford University Press, 1906) served generations of perplexed English speakers as a revered guide. Here’s what “The King’s English” (traditionally known as “Fowler”) has to say about “shall,” “should,” “will” and “would” in a discussion that is 20(!) pages long:

“It is unfortunate that the idiomatic use [of these words], while it comes by nature to southern Englishmen (who will find most of this section superfluous), is so complicated that those who are not to the manner born can hardly acquire it; and for them [this] section is in danger of being useless. In apology for the length of the remarks it must be said that the short and simple directions often given are worse than useless. The observant reader soon loses faith in them… and the unobservant is the victim of false security."

Needless to say, this is highly reassuring! Fowler then opens its discussion with the following short and simple directions: “Roughly speaking, should follows the same rules as shall, and would as will.”

In their pure form, Fowler continues, "shall" and "should" express command or obligation, whereaswill and would express intention or prediction, the difference between the two members of each pair being that the second is the conditional form of the first. Hence, “There SHALL be no right to secede from the Federation.” would indicate that Sabah & Sarawak is commanded NOT TO SECEDE FROM THE FEDERATION unconditionally, whereas “There SHOULD be no right to secede from the Federation.” indicates that this command is SUBJECT TO A CONDITION (or CONDITIONS) — in this case, presumably, that SABAHAN & SARAWAKIAN wish “to continue being part of the Federation”

  7. “No, thank you.. we SABAHAN & SARAWAKIAN wish to SECEDE from the Federation.”

    cont'd from above:

SHOULD vs SHALL ~ A Consideration for Point 7: Right of Secession
    =====================
    Point 7: Right of Secession
There should be no right to secede from the Federation.
    ======================

Would such a reading of my argument, if it is the correct one, turn POINT 7 into a “mere recommendation” that SABAH & SARAWAK continue to be part of the Federation of Malaysia when there is no reasons/causes to trigger their need to SECEDE FROM THE FEDERATION?? If POINT 7 intends to say that SABAH & SARAWAK need not secede from the Federation unless it wants to, then it also intends to say that SABAH & SARAWAK need not continue to be part of the Federation of Malaysia unless it wants to — a construction of POINT 7 that would be rather bizarre, to say the least.

True, in practice, as opposed to theory, the difference between “shall” and “should” in British English is somewhat different: “shall” often expressing a COMMAND on the speaker’s part, and “should” merely a DESIRE, as in “You shall go to the doctor” vs. “You should go to the doctor.” And yet if we paraphrase POINT 7 as saying, “The Point 7 of the Agreement of Malaysia desires that Sabah & Sarawak not to secede from the Federation,” is this significantly better for Sabah & Sarawak? How big an improvement over flouting the POINT 7’s command would be flouting the POINT 7’s desire??

In short, if we take consideration of the above arguments on the reading of POINT 7, the FEDERATION OF MALAYSIA should politely be told in the king’s English,

“No, thank you.. we SABAHAN & SARAWAKIAN wish to SECEDE from the Federation.”

Pergi jahanam dgn UMNOBN Melayu Palsu taik babi!

  9. All of a sudden good Sabahans are being drawn into a cloud of stupidity by trying to argue about the contents and meanings of a clause drawn in an Agreement.Unfortunately none is wise and credible enough to make any meaningful interpretation. The simple reason is we are not the learned judge that could shed the lights of such a clause. As a result Sabahans had been taken advantage of their ignorance and treated like fools.Worst still they allowed themselves to be led through their noses by some unscrupulous individuals into thinking something that may destroy the foundation of their own country.

Now lets talk about history, the good and bad because this is what the writer wants Sabahans to hold dear and be made a basis of their present and future struggles. The writer is making use of the Agreement to bend the minds of Sabahans on what their struggles should be focussed upon and leads them on how to achieve it.This is the crux of this article.

Everyone remembers WW2 and therefore everyone remembers Germany and its notorious leader Adolf Hitler. The start of WW2 was due to Hitler's obsessions of lost territories in WW1.He was a foot soldier then, fought in the fields,in the trenches and subsequently faced the humiliation of defeat that saw his vast country being minisculed due to divisions and newly drawn territories.Worst still the reparations Germany had to pay caused so much hardships to its people. All these had moulded him with a strong resolve for revenge. To him Germany had been unfairly punished and all lost territories must be taken back by force to return Germany to its glory days.
When he came to power in 1933 he had secretly built such resolve in him by re-building Germany with great arsenals of weapons and armouries to fulfill his evil desires. To Hitler it was a noble cause.

Poland was invaded that resulted in a declaration of war by Great Britain on Germany.Later Austria was annexed and Hitler becoming so bold then, invaded France and in such a short span of 2 years almost the whole of Europe crumbled under the might of Germany.

Germany is a fine example of the obsession of a leader towards history.Hitler wants to re-write history but in the process destroyed his country, created the untold sufferings of his people and the great humiliations they were to face.To fulfill his ambitions more than 40 million people died in a war that should not had happened at all.

So is history being fair to those with evil desires and see a country not created but further divided in trying to change history? After WW2 Germany was further divided into East and West. One country becoming two and so were its people.

Sabahans should therefore pose this question to themselves. Are we prepared to face the uncertainties of tomorrow so that we can satisfy the lust for power by those few irresponsible leaders of today? Are we prepared for the sufferings of such uncertainties and risk everything that Sabahans have toiled for nearly 50 years in just one day?

Sabahans should decide their future in a just and fair manner through democratic process and in the context of a country within the federation. For better or worst Sabah must be a country within Malaysia. It is the dreams and aspirations of our past leaders and we Sabahans must ensure that such dreams prevail. We will fight it out in an election for every 5 years within ourselves without any undue influence and outside interference.Win or lose we remain as Malaysians and shape our destiny in the way we want for now and the future.

How do you know what turnout now is the dreams of past leaders? 12. UMNO BUILT MALAY SUPREMACIST APARTHEID SYSTEM WITH ILLEGALS

It is good that Anak Petagas has brought up the example of Hitler. But it is a bit incoherent as to what point he is making.

Since 1969 after the UMNO led May 13 massacre and maiming of over 30,000 innocent people in Kuala Lumpur, UMNO has implemented its obsessive Malay supremacist ideology and imposed institutionalized apartheid on the people of Malaya and Sabah/Sarawak colonies.

We all know that UMNO has mass transmigrated over 1.5 million illegals into Sabah who become instant voters and cheap labor replacing Sabahan's right to employment.

UMNO (just as Petagas said of Hitler) has most cyncially used race and religion to strengthen its position and made the Kadazan Dusuns and all Sabah tribes no longer relevant.

In the past the local people were considered as "bumiputras" and used as UMNO's power base but now UMNO can rely on illegals to stay in power.

Therefore I was implying to Sabahans not to be obsessed with the state's history and incitement by an unscrupulous writer because it could destruct the achievements made by this country.
    So,to Anon above,

    1. Sabahans have the right to be obsessed or to be exact, concerned with the history of Sabah because Sabah belongs to Sabahan, not "instant" Permanent Residences who originate from outside of Sabah.

Sabahans are seeing their Native Land that is Sabah are infested with foreign moslem from Philipines and Indonesia. Add to that the expatriate Malays from Malaya, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis and Arab. Personally, I'd rather have Europeans taking up residence here than aforementioned six nations of moslems. Why? Because Sabah have its' own native moslems such as the Bajaus, Sungais, etc. How many foreign moslems do we need anyways?! Non whatsoever! These foreigners by the way are demanding the same rights that majority Christians, non-moslems barely able to uphold one.

"it could destruct the achievements made by this country", you say? At this point, Sabahans don't give any more! It is our right to call for secession or something else. The achievement of this Federation is at the expense of its member states, Sabah and Sarawak. Oil, Land and Rights to be sacrifice for the development of this country? Never again! Sabahans will and must rise up against this Malayan Domination or it is going to be another "Sultanate" of corrupt elites and their foreign stooge!

UMNO and Illegal Immigrants(including their dubious PR counterparts) must leave Sabah...Or gently show the way out.

Do Sabahans need to earn an 'A' in History to understand this or have their say? Sabahans, show "Anak Petagas" the direction of the Sulu Islands, "Anak Petagas" can swim by itself.

    2. First off, your statement proves the lack of quality in your 'A' in History of the fact that you have no understanding of the sentiments, nay, anger of the Natives against the UMNO regime here in Sabah. Had you understand this, "Anak Petagas", this would have explained the involvement of State Reform Party in Sabah's political scene. Your words alone prove of the foulness of your intent right from the beginning.

Second, how much UMNO is paying you for this piece of shamefulness? Having trouble buying tickets to fly back home to Malaya(or is it the Sulu Island), I presumed? Or maybe, just maybe you lost you way home after bringing in your friends from Kalimantan?

Third, has it ever occurred to you that 99% of this Federation's population just hate UMNO-BN as much as Sabah and Sarawak? Your "mighty" UMNO is the grand daddy of political corruption/exploitation of race and religion! Therefore, UMNO deserved to be "crush and finish-off" in the coming election!
