PKR Keningau members exodus?

By Mr Melvin Jaikul, Former PKR deputy head for Keningau

KENINGAU : To those who still believed and tried to mislead the people in the Interior that Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) still commands respect there, please take it from me that the Malaya-based party there is already crippled as more than 2,000 members have since quit it for the State Reform Party (STAR).

I myself as being the elected deputy head of PKR for Keningau division, has quit together with the majority of the elected divisional committee members.Among those who have also quit were the division vice head Daniel Palangi and its Information Chief, Salim Nair.

Others in the divisional line-up who have also quit are Fred Aliun, Dominic Liew, Adrian Mikin and Alex Amik to mention a few.

Meanwhile in the divisional youth wing, all but one, had also left PKR for STAR. Likewise in the Women wing, many have left too, joining more than 2,000 PKR members in joining STAR which is led by Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

We appeal to the people not to believe certain groups in PKR who kept mentioning that they are intake as if we are still in it. We have totally lost confidence in the Malayan party and that is why 2,000 members have quit.

There will be more who will leave PKR both in Keningau and in other divisions too. In the very near future there will be an exodus from PKR Putatan to join STAR.

  1. PKR should just focus in West Malaysia and go for a win win fomula by not interefering with the local based parties. They need to respect Sabah and Sarawak as equal partners as agreed in the formation of Malaysia. This way PKR will earn total regards from the two Borneon states.
