TAWAU: Member of parliament for Tawau, Datuk Chua Soon Bui, claims that Democratic Action Party (DAP) is trying to sabotage the intention of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) to cooperate with Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
Chua also questioned DAP national vice chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim of his real agenda behind his recent accusation against SAPP that it was responsible for bringing in Umno to Sabah.
"It was widely reported in the local Chinese dailies that Teng had made such an accusation during his speech delivered in Tawau recently," she said yesterday.
In an attempt to rebut the issue, Chua described Teng's accusation as baseless and mischievous aimed at assassinating the character of SAPP president Datuk Yong Teck Lee and herself.
"When Umno came to Sabah in 1990 after PBS left the BN coalition, SAPP was not even formed yet at that time. SAPP was only formed four years later in 1994 after Umno gained enhy into Sabah. How could a non-existing party bring Umno into Sabah?" asked Chua who is also SAPP vice president.
Teng who is also Selangor Speaker, should first get his facts on Sabah politics right before making any baseless allegation against the SAPP president and herself, Chua said.
She said Teng should not have made such a wild accusation against SAPP leaders, especially given the fact that two of its current senior state leaders like its State chairman, Jimmy Wong, and its member of parliament for Kota Kinabalu, Hiew King Cheu, were both SAPP founding members, whom he could have easily consulted on the historical and political facts on Sabah.
"It is absolutely regrettable and unbelievable that such a highly-learned and respectable Speaker from a Pakatan Rakyat- ruled state could simply hurl wild accusation against a fellow opposition like SAPP. Or was he actually targeting at a certain senior Pakatan Rakyat leader, but lacked the guts to mount a direct confrontation?" she asked.
She said being such a senior and supposedly intelligent politician, Teng should not have much problem in getting his facts of Sabah politics right, unless he chose to be ignorant in order to achieve his hidden agenda that is probably best known only to himself.
Chua also reminded Teng that SAPP has been sincerely working on a "winning formula" with the PKR leaders to topple the Barisan Nasional (BN) government in the coming 13th general election.
"Our leaders, including our party president Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, have even declared and reaffirmed our support for Pakatan Rakyat to capture Putrajaya, and supporting Datuk Seri Anwar as the Prime Minister of Malaysia," she pointed out.
She was thus bewildered as to why despite a callfor a ceasefue against SAPP made by DAP national advisor Lim Kit Siang in Kota Kinabalu last October, stressing that their common enemy is BN/Umno, and not SAPP, DAP leaders at national and state levels continued to attack SAPP and its leaders.
She noted that among those DAP leaders who had been relentlessly attacking SAPP and its leaders included its member of parliament for Cheras, Tan Kok Wai, its national publicity chief, Dr Hiew Kuan Yau aka Superman Professor, and its Sabah publicity chief, Chan Foong Khin.
"They are literally sabotaging SAPP's fervent and sincere plan to forge cooperation with Pakatan Rakyat in the coming general election, and this is rather strange and suspicious. We just wonder what's the real motive and agenda behind it?" she said.
Teng might be crazy to accuse SAPP bringing UMNO into Sabah. He need to get his fact right. Anyway, i think PR has been very open and compromising by letting SAPP have a go on majority of state seat. Hope SAPP will work with all opposition including STAR which seem to be left out by recent PR-SAPP pact. But beware, STAR is run by expired leader JK who very famous for jumping from one ship to another. He might jump to BN after winning on opposition tickets. Who knows. Perhap SAPP too... who knows.
ReplyDeleteYou need to read things carefully too.
DeleteThe recent agreement is between PKR and SAPP. Not PR and SAPP.
Discussion with other parties is still ongoing. No one is being left out.
PKR and SAPP agreed to cooperate. STAR wants to contest 60 seats. DAP still bickering with SAPP. Conclusion, BN will win again.
DeleteYup, from the way things are going, with opposition parties refused to cooperate, BN will win again.
DeleteWait a bit longer then we shall see which or who topedo and sink the vessel itself by typical one!
ReplyDeleteDAP and SAPP will sabotage their own chances during the next GE-13. These two better get out before PKR or Star was dragged down by their bickering.
DeleteIni Teng cina palui dari malaya, malaya man memang mentality colony.
Inilah maksud 0ne-to-one-fight bah!
Jangan kamu menghina orang Sabah dan nama kamu pun "Soo Chai" @ Budak Gila. Kamu ini dari ajaran sesat kah? Kamu fikir hanya orang malaya yang pandai orang kita bodoh kah?
DeleteSiapa yang membunuh Menteri2 Sabah dalam Double Six?
Kamu tunggulah ketulahan kamu orang malaya.
Sendiri tekalah. Nanti kena saman pula.
DeleteDAP fight for seats in Sabah is only opportunistic and nothing else.. Just tell me what can DAP do for Sabah??? What we want is a change of government in Sabah...not a dog barking and getting fed for that!
ReplyDeleteDAP is arrogant and back stabber.
DeleteDAP is not relevant in Sabah. Mereka menang bertanding gambar solo-solo macam Edward Mujie. Haha
Jangan lain kali lain cerita pulak macam ditanya dahulu sokong UMNO/BN sebelum kurual lari jadi parti lawan BN.
Kalo bukan 'soochai' mungkin dianggap terlalu pandai berpusing2 bah!
Yong Teck Lee already gotten what they wanted, PKR has give way to SAPP to contest 1 to 1 during the next GE. Now that their purpose are reached, PKR is no use for them any more.
DeleteDAP vs SAPP...
DeleteDAP and SAPP should keep fighting, so that BN can have higher chances of winning again this GE-13. Keep on fighting, don't ever stop.
ReplyDeleteWhether DAP or SAPP or any similar group. No wonder people always say is hopeless like wolves while quarrel with dogs turn back to bite themselves too!
DeleteAlso, keep thinking on with your personal agenda and for another 10 years even given a vast area of sea and land still unchange with problems of poverty, land issue, and also cabotage or liberalisation globally.Do not just point fingers outwards for last 48 plus years. Some of you are damn RICH and still playing the cards!
All just because of attitude of unwise but useless leaders and always ask for dispute without wisdom.
HOPELESS!
DeleteHas DAP became BN's assasins out to kill local political parties? Think about it. They seems not keen on winning, but more keen in killing off oppositions.
ReplyDeleteLook at how they were taught.
ReplyDeleteThey were taught how to admire only their own leaders and condemn other with photo or words as in blog.
It seems theirs only well qualified or many back from overseas to serve but those from other states are here to do bad to Sabah.
Doubt Sabah only have few smart one back from overseas since 1963?
Think and ask yourself while looking into mirror!
ReplyDelete"They are literally sabotaging SAPP's fervent and sincere plan to forge cooperation with Pakatan Rakyat in the coming general election, and this is rather strange and suspicious. We just wonder what's the real motive and agenda behind it?" she said.
ReplyDeleteSAPP want to contest in 2/3 of sabah seats...cannot be nego..that's why DAP keep sabotaging SAPP...DAP also want to contest..sendiri pikirlah...
pandai-pandailah dap dan sapp tentuan halatuju diorang sendiri. silap-silap diorang ni nanti bersaing masa pru nanti.
ReplyDeleteDAP LGE best CM Pulau Pinang sikarang.
ReplyDeleteBN Musa Aman best CM Sabah sikarang.
Adakah YTL juga best CM dulu?
Ini masalah lah!
cuma mainan politik pembangkang saja
ReplyDeletePembangkang Sabah hanya siok sendiri sja. tiada sepakat.
ReplyDeleteDAP already extended an olive branch to SAPP and its up to SAPP to accept it or not.
