GE13: Malayan Opposition yet to finalise seats in Sabah, S’wak

PETALING JAYA: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali said Friday the allocation of seats for the opposition pact in Johor, Sabah and Sarawak has yet to be finalised.

“For the other states, we have already reached final decision on the seat allocation,” he told reporters at the PKR headquarters after a meeting of the top leadership of the opposition pact, here.

The two-hour meeting that began at 3pm was also attended by DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang, PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali and PAS treasurer-general Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli.

Mohamed Azmin (picture), who is the PKR election director, said PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng would announce the list of candidates contesting and the number of seats contested by PKR, PAS and DAP on Monday (April 8).

However, he said, the location and time of the announcement would be informed to the media in the near future.

Commenting on the statement by the party’s vice-president, Nurul Izzah Anwar who refuted the statement by Anwar that her mother, Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail would not be contesting in the 13th general election, Mohamed Azmin pointed out that the party president would certainly not contest this time.

Asked whether the meeting had decided on the position of Johor PKR chairman Datuk Seri Dr Chua Jui Ming, who had yet to be listed as a PKR candidate in the 13th general election, he said the matter was still being discussed.
