KUALA LUMPUR - The government is planning to build a military camp capable of accommodating one batallion of military command in Kudat, Sabah.
Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri said the construction of the camp was crucial in the defence of the state of Sabah especially in the Eastern Sabah Special Security Command (ESSCOM) area.
The government would also boost the military assets with suitable equipment besides improving the capability and effectiveness of military intelligence to ensure that any foreign intrusion and terrorism could be checked, he said.
"The people are also reminded to always give their cooperation to the country's defence and security forces and not to provide any space for foreigners to threaten the country's sovereign integrity," he said in a statement, here today.
