A major reshuffle at Bukit Aman is expected following the arrests of 16 policemen, including senior officers, in investigations into drug syndicates, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim (pic).
It was reported recently that the policemen, who included a deputy superintendent (DSP) and an Inspector, were arrested under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.
The policemen, some of whom were attached to the Narcotics Department, were alleged to have protected the syndicates instead of going after them.
Noor Rashid said those arrested were found to have given information on police operations to the syndicates.
"Any policeman or officer found to be in cahoots with crime syndicates will be dealt with," he said after closing the 19th national-level police cadet corp camp at the Police General Operations Forces base in Ulu Kinta here on Monday.
