The source said the meeting was called by a PKR Supreme Council member, but Liew was not invited.
“We heard the leaders will also discuss the issue of state PKR chief and some kind of voting will be carried out,” the source told FMT.
But it said the plan to oust Liew had little support from the 26 division chiefs.
The source said many did not regard the Supreme Council member as having the locus standi to call for the meeting.
Meanwhile, former PKR’s Inanam assemblyman Dr Roland Chia denied any plans to oust Liew.
He said the meeting was a normal procedure after the party elections.
“We need to hold a discussion to elect the Sabah PKR chief but it should not be misconstrued as an attempt to oust her,” he said.
