Eight months in, Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal is still groping in the dark with no clear direction for the state, an activist has noted.
Sabah political activist Zainnal Ajamain said this was in contrast to former chief minister Musa Aman, who, upon assuming the position, had a clear direction for the development and progress of Sabah.
“Shafie Apdal has been chief minister for eight months, but he is groping in the dark and is unsure of where to go.
“He has the power over all civil servants in Sabah, as well as government-linked companies (GLCs).
“At the same time, he is supported by Sabah think tanks and implementation bodies.
“What happened? Does he not know how to govern a state?” Zainnal asked in a Facebook post.
Zainnal had previously disputed any need for Warisan to dissolve when PPBM enters Sabah, but warned that the party otherwise risked losing a measure of political power.
He said PPBM would push for its entry into Sabah as the federal leaders did not trust Warisan.
“Warisan’s leaders, especially its president and Chief Minister Shafie Apdal, are seen as insecure and weak with his own people pushing him around,” he was quoted as saying.
Zainnal also said Warisan did not have any clear philosophy to begin with, and the ideas their leaders had been promoting were “mashed up philosophies” taken from PKR, DAP and Umno. - FMT
