Scorpenes, Altantuya to make waves in France when open court starts

Malaysian civil rights group SUARAM expects its corruption lawsuit filed against French naval arms firm DCNS to move into open court and hearings to begin in May or June.

This will pave the way for Malaysians to finally get access to details of a highly questionable RM6.7billion ringgit submarines deal entered into by their defense ministry in 2002, and kept top secret by Prime Minister Najib Razak.

DCNS was the vendor of the submarines and Najib has been accused of benefiting his close friend Razak Baginda with a 114 million euros commission in the deal.

'Even if not doctored, it isn't Anwar in sex video'

Not surprisingly PKR continues to rally behind its de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim despite the sex video allegations against him.

Amidst the nation's top cop stating that the footage of the sex video screened to journalists is genuine, PKR communications chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said it still does not prove who is in the video.

"Even if the video is genuine, fine and dandy. But it still does not prove who is in the video. Other people who have watched the video said that apart from the face, the physical attributes are not Anwar's.

Smut video, scumbag and Umno politics

What was a member of the Malaysian royal household, allegedly from Selangor, doing at a screening of the sex video at Shangri-la hotel?

The story surrounding the Carcosa smut video has been retold so many times by so many people. Before Carcosa there was Flamingo. Before Flamingo there was even a private viewing for five people at the Shangri-La hotel.

I think those five people at the Shangrila screenimg should be hauled up for questioning. At each of these viewings, the main protagonists were present – Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Rahim Tamby Chik.

Sex video probe: 'Don't let AG use police

Inspector-general of police (IGP) Ismail Omar must ensure that the investigation of the sex video scandal is carried out free of political or other forms of pressure, said former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Mat Zain Ibrahim.

This is given the history of bad blood between two key figures - attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail (right) and former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik - and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar has denied he is the man in the video and lodged a police report.

Investigations are now underway under Section 292 of the Penal Code relating to the distribution of obscene material.

All for Nought

By Wong Chun Wai, The Star

The public is divided between believers and sceptics over the sex video.

IT was a most unusual way of exposing a sex video to incriminate a political enemy. Such videos are often sent to media companies in envelopes or they just pop up on the Internet. It is also rare for anyone to claim responsibility for such gutter politics.

The se‘X’-Files of BN

BN’s emphasis is on sex – and the many versions of it. BN’s politicians tend to hide behind catchy slogans, and sexual scandals.

What is it like to be a teenager who wants to exercise his democratic rights in a BN dominated Malaysia?

He notes that BN ministers rarely discuss important topics like fiscal policy, education, health, the environment, energy and transportation.

Johari: Rahim offered me money to defect, meet Najib

Written by  Johari Abdul

I was contacted by a very close associate since Mac 15, 2011 to meet with him regarding something important. On Monday, Mac 21, at about 12.20pm, I confirmed that I had time to meet him.

I met him at the Hotel De Palma, Ampang, at 4pm that day before being brought there in another car. There were two people in the car that I did not recognise.

I was brought to a junior suite in the Hotel Flamingo, Ampang. I met Rahim Thamby and Shazryl Eskay who were waiting in the room. I was also accompanied by my close associate.

Act immediately against 'Datuk T', police told

The screening of the video, purportedly depicting PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim having sex with an unidentified woman in Kuala Lumpur hotel room on Feb 21, clearly violates the laws of the country, said Karpal.

He said he was in left in a state of shock upon learning that police had yet to take any action to arrest 'Datuk T' following the 'public viewing' of the pornographic video clip.

New MCA scandal: Perak leader behind molest of beautician?

It looks like a top MCA man from Perak may be the next to follow in the footsteps of party president Chua Soi Lek and get embroiled in a ‘sex’ scandal.

Speculation is rife that the senior MCA divisional leader is the politician who allegedly molested a beautician on New Year’s Eve.

“I don’t know who, but the news has appeared in a few Chinese papers and it is creating a lot of public curiosity. I hope that the politician and the party he belongs to will issue a clarification,” PKR vice president Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.

Not aware of Rais' rape claim or sleeping on the job

Former Prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi denied that he helped cover up the alleged rape of an Indonesian maid by Rais Yatim four years ago.

He claimed that he was “not aware” that such an incident even took place during his tenure despite contradicting claims by an Indonesian workers rights group.

He said, “I’m not aware of that. I don’t think there was anything.”

Abdullah Badawi has just confessed to his failure as a leader.
