DAP Duo, a hindrance to working together?

SAPP hints it can’t work with DAP duo

KOTA KINABALU: SAPP said it received support from DAP for its Sabahtv.net "Bersih” signboard, except for two members, namely Vice Chairman Edward Mujie and Kota Kinabalu MP Hiew King Cheu.

It said the controversy over the signboard - which was deemed by City Hall as illegally erected last Saturday as no approval was sought - has opened the door for an understanding with fellow opposition PKR to face the next General Election.

SAPP Information Chief, Chong Fit Fah said the party expressed its appreciation to Sabah DAP Secretary Dr Edwin Bosi and PKR Penampang Information Chief, Honorius Bosuin, for expressing support.

"SAPP believes this will lead to a greater understanding among the opposition parties in Sabah , towards achieving the common goal to topple the Barisan Nasional (BN) govern ment," he said, in a statement, Friday.

Chong said while SAPP had ttaken the initiative to discuss with the Pakatan Rakyat in Sabah, there were still some issues that needed to be ironed out between them.

Hence, the support expressed openly to SAPP on the sigaboard issue is seen as crucial in order to achieve the target of one-on-one fight between the BN and the opposition in the 13th General Election, he said.

Chong said Bosi had stated that the statement by Mujie criticising SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee was not the stand of Sabah DAP but a personal opinion of Mujie as the former Kota Kinabalu Municipal Council secretary.

“We want to ask Mujie and Hiew what is their stand on other signboards that also contain the word Bersih in Pakatan -held states in Semenanjung.

“Does this mean they are saying that those signboards including in Penang, which is led by their Secretary General Lim Guan Eng could also be taken down immediately?" he asked.

  1. This Mujie will insist on standing in Kiulu on DAP ticket in this coming election by simply claiming he has appeared in the local paper numerous time pin-pointing damage roads and drains around the state but never highlight the serious problem in kiulu especially PILAK given PPRT housing in Tuaran district.
