Motion to deliberate courthouse site issue in assembly
KOTA KINABALU, - Sabah Progressive Party Deputy President cum Likas assemblyman Datuk Liew Teck Chan has submitted a motion relating to the courthouse site and its adjoining lands here for deliberation during the State Legislative Assembly sitting from July 16 to 18.
He handed a copy of the motion to assembly secretary Datuk Bernard Dalinting at the latter's office yesterday.
In the motion, Liew would be asking the state government to make a verification and assurance that the prime lands where the courthouse complex, State Library building, Chong Thein Vun Park and the City's Mother and Child Health Clinic are situated will be protected and remain for public use only.
He said those lands are not transferrable to any party, individual or company for commercial use.

We will see what happens after the motion relating to the courthouse site has been submitted for deliberation during the state legislative assembly next week.
ReplyDeletewait and see...
DeleteEdward Yong has said it clearly that the state government won't relocate the site because the people refuse to it.
DeleteHopefully the state government will make a verification and assurance that the prime lands will remain for public use only.
ReplyDeleteThat would be good.
Deleteif so, then that would be good..
Deletehope not for business buildings.
DeletePlease refer to the news report on the 15th July 2012. Front page of the Daily Express.
DeleteI just don't understand why SAPP have to hold a demonstration if they could just submit this motion the first place? Can't help to think if they really wanted to use this case for publicity.
ReplyDeleteOf course la for publicity.
DeleteThe General Election is getting closer, SAPP needs all the attention they can get.
DeleteAnd I can't even understand why YTL has to do so much things yet he was the CM back then. He's supposed to know what happened.
DeleteCouldn't resist making a scene about all their 'activities', takut orang tak nampak.
ReplyDeleteThey're seeking more attentions now.
DeletePublicity or not depand on how you all look at this opposition party ....what's the role of the opposition ?? Go and figure out and try to accept the fact that current gov is not doing the best for the RAKYAT...
DeleteThen do the oppositions will be the best for us here?
DeleteOpposing just for the sake of opposing. They are anti-development and they want to see Sabah goes back to the primitive age.Thats the opposition first task in Sabah.
ReplyDeletepembangkang mahu jadi kerajaan bah...
ReplyDeleteSAPP buat bising saja ..... Hidup pati hidup BN
ReplyDeleteZalis
I suggest the prime lands should remain untouched and used for its main purpose which is to serve the public.
ReplyDeletesomething like public park??
DeleteI really hope this would be considered by the state government.
ReplyDeleteThe prime lands are certainly for the public.
ReplyDeleteprotect the people's land.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see how it goes afterwards.
ReplyDeleteLihat sajalah nanti apa akan berlaku seterusnya.
ReplyDeleteApa juga bah masalah ni sebenarnya??? Kalau semua pun pembangkang tak puas hati then buatlah sendiri...
DeleteWow, entah apalah hasilnya nanti.
ReplyDeleteAll the while when SAPP helmed the State Government with Yong Teck Lee as the Chief Minister, he did many destructive things, chief among them giving away valuable land to outsiders. In a mere two years, a huge chunk of Sabah ’s wealth fell into the wrong hands.
ReplyDeleteWhen Yong Teck Lee says that SAPP is fighting for native rights, he is simply lying. When he was the chief minister [1996–1998], lands allocated to natives were actually ‘stolen’ and given to public-listed companies.
