Support opened up doors for opposition collaboration

Support opened up doors for opposition collaboration in Sabah ... Mujie and Hiew should explain.

KOTA KINABALU, July 15, 2011: DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah leaders' support to Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Sabahnet.tv's "Bersih" signboard has opened up the door for an understanding among the opposition parties to face the General Election.

SAPP Information Chief, Chong Pit Fah said the party thanked Sabah DAP secretary Dr Edwin Bosi and PKR Penampang Information Chief, Honorius Bosuin for expressing support to SAPP on the issue unlike Sabah DAP vice chairman, Edward Ewol Mujie and Kota Kinabalu MP Hiew King Cheu.

"SAPP believe this will lead to a greater understanding among the opposition parties in Sabah towards achieving the common goal that is to topple the Barisan Nasional (BN) government," he said here Friday.

Chong said that while SAPP had taken the initiative to discuss with the Pakatan Rakyat in Sabah, there were still some issues that needed to be ironed out between them.

Hence, the support expressed openly to SAPP on the signboard matter is seen as crucial in order to achieve the target of one-on-one fight between the BN and the opposition in the 13th General Election, he said.

Meanwhile, Chong said Bosi had stated that the statement by Mujie criticising SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee was not the stand of Sabah DAP but a personal opinion of Mujie as the former Kota Kinabalu Municipal Council secretary who insisted that the signboard could be taken down "serta merta".

While Bosuin had asked Mujie to stop attacking fellow opposition in Sabah especially SAPP since they have the common objective that is to topple the BN government.

"We want to ask Mujie and Hiew what is their stand on other signboards that also contain the word Bersih in Pakatan-held states in Semenanjung. Does this mean they are saying that those signboards including in Penang, which is led by their Secretary General Lim Guan Eng could also be taken down immediately?" he asked.

  5. I suggest that this matter be put to rest as it will not bring any benefits at all, political or otherwise to all opposition parties. On the analogy that 'no one is perfect' and therefore someone is bound to make mistakes Edward should be given a leeway to absolve himself of his misdemeanour.Considering that he is someone of position in Sabah DAP he therefore should be saved from any embarassment and be given the opportunity to redeem himself.

  6. first he should have refrained himself for being stuborn in attacking fellow opposition and focus more on complaining damaged road and drain in the local paper since there are thousand of this sort that have not yet been brought to the authority's attention. Isn't this a wise thing to do. Having position in Sabah DAP doesn't justify him to be big headed.
