KENINGAU : I refer to the news report quoting Mr Robert Linggi of Keningau PKR recently accusing Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan of splitting the opposition in Sabah.
This issue should not arise at all because Dr Jeffrey is leading a local party of a unified Sabah and Sarawak, something that we have all these years long for in Borneo but repeatedly denied the opportunity.
PKR's Robert should know that we need leadership from our own Sabah and Sarawak leaders if we are to empower East Malaysians again. Under a Malaya-based PKR, Robert is merely allowing himself to be abused for outsiders' interest. Robert must realise now that a Malayan party would never be able to vouch for Sabah autonomous rights, and that is why Sarawakians had refused Malayan party in their state.
As someone who had held the post of PKR deputy head for the Keningau division, i know the mentality of national PKR leaders and how their minds work vis-a-vis Sabah right and aspirations. They are no better than UMNO on this.
Dr Jeffrey, on the other hand, through State Reform Party (STAR) has built a tri-partite alliance called United Borneo Alliance (UBA). Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) is wise enough to come and be part of UBA to unite the people, and Robert should emulate his fellow Sabahans by joining us in STAR or SAPP or even USNO Baru.
He will be welcome in UBA. By the way we respect the fact that Malaysia is a democratic country and we in STAR believed in giving the people a decent choice in the coming general election. Let the people decide.

THINK ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO FOR OUR COUNTRY SABAH!
ReplyDeleteNOT WHAT WE CAN DO FOR MALAYAN COLONIALISTS!
HIDUP PATRIOTIC UBA!
Sabahans unite for Sabahans future. Do what we must and vote wisely during the next GE.
DeleteEmpowerment should come with dignity too.
ReplyDeleteGood leadership is what we need for both Sabah and Sarawak.
ReplyDeleteBN should put more effort.
DeleteBN must work harder to win back the people's support and trust, the next GE is just around the corner, they have many grounds to cover.
DeleteWith great power comes great responsibility...please don’t forget that also.
ReplyDeleteSabah and Sarawak need to rise up together and unite as one.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless it should be for the betterment of our great country.
DeleteEasy to say, hard to do.
DeleteNot impossible.. if they can work together towards similar goal, I am sure both State can strike better development.
Deleteall the best in fighting for Sabahans right.
ReplyDeleteSemoga STAR berkebolehan memperjuangkan yang terbaik.
DeleteSabah government should be able to strike more for the people.
DeleteEveryone says they want the best for Sabah but not every party has a sincere heart.
ReplyDeleteWe can never tell whether they are really sincere or just "main wayang".
DeleteThe people must learn to judge by themselves and vote wisely during the next GE. Don't be easily fooled by these wayang kulit.
DeleteHard to judge but just like another gambling also. Hope the party had won be able to give and strike the better future for future generation.
DeleteSincerity is almost doesn't exist in politics. Most of them are opportunists only.
DeleteWe deserve to have this chance of empowerment or else we would never know how it actually works.
ReplyDeleteTHe people will decide what is best for them.
ReplyDeleteIn the end of the day, its the people that holds the key to a party's victory or downfall.
DeleteMaybe its best that PKR focus in Peninsula states while Sabah is left to Sabahan parties instead.
ReplyDeleteThis issue should not arise at all because Dr Jeffrey is leading a local party of a unified Sabah and Sarawak, something that we have all these years long for in Borneo but repeatedly denied the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteHope Jeffrey mission work and be able to achieve his target. Its good for the people about the unity.
ReplyDeletependek kata..rakyat perlu bijak membuat penilaian..
DeleteRakyat juga harus pandai menilai.
ReplyDeleteLet see what Jeffrey can do for the people via STAR.
ReplyDeleteTime will tell. Which party wins the rakyat's heart.
Deletewhatever la.. but I still say that STAR is Sarawak based party, not Sabah.. only SAPP represent Sabah based party..
ReplyDeleteI also think that JK just want to split the opposition in Sabah. If not, why JK form the Star near the GE13. Must has some personal agendas.
ReplyDeleteapa pun, biar rakyat yang tentukan pilihan mereka sendiri..
ReplyDeletePeople in Sabah have experienced marked progress in terms of development and life quality after the state gained independence by joining the Federation to form Malaysia on Sept 16, 1963.
ReplyDeleteBefore, many in the state were living below the poverty line but now the situation has significantly changed with those categorised as poor and hardcore poor have been drastically reduced in their number.
DeleteBased on the Mid Term Review of the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP), the poverty rate in Sabah has dropped to 16 per cent as compared to 23.0 per cent in 2004.
DeleteAs for the hardcore poor in the state, their number has declined significantly to 3.7 per cent in 2007 as against 6.5 per cent in 2004.
DeleteThis marked drop in the poverty rate showed the state government's efforts and determination to resolve issues faced by the people particularly the lower income group who live in the rural areas and interiors of the state.
DeleteHence, it is no surpsrise that the Sabah government expected to completely eradicate the harcore poverty issue by the year 2020.
DeletePrime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has expressed his desires to see a balanced development throughout the country including Sabah and Sarawak.
DeleteTo ensure that this happens, one of the six NKRAs – Rural Basic Infrastructure (RBI) – of the GTP has been especially designed to ensure that adequate basic amenities are provided for the rural population.
DeleteDevelopment-wise, Najib said the country has witnessed the highest increase in terms of the construction of roads, supply of electricity and clean water as well as housing in the rural areas.
DeleteThe Prime Minister said the government has never neglected the needs of the rural people as it strives to ensure a balanced development throughout the nation.
