SAPP launches its manifesto

Highlights of SAPP's manifesto during its Biennial Delegates Convention at Star City, Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Progressive Party is mindful of the predicaments faced by Malaysians in Sabah.

The 17 promises contained in the Manifesto are the best ways to address it.

Fulfilling these promises require a Sabah State Government with autonomy and implement the One Country Two Systems.

Only a Sabah State Government with autonomy could issue the Sabah Identity Card, establish Sabah Commission of Inquiry on Illegal Immigrants.

To realise Borneonisation, Review State-Federal Relationship and Laws as well as elevate Sabah Native Affairs also needs a Sabah State Government with autonomy. To right the imbalances in the state requires the implementation of the One Country Two Systems including pushing for the setting up of Foreign Consulates especially the Philippine and the China Consulates.

The Anti-Hopping Law is to ensure democracy in Sabah is upheld.

The Amanah Progresif Rakyat Sabah (APRS) is created as a peoples' welfare trust to benefit Malaysians in Sabah.

SAPP's commitment to Social Development in Sabah included the creation of a harmonious society and provisions of housing to all families complemented with accessibility to education for all and schools are allowed to choose to adopt the PPSMI (teaching of Science and Mathematics in English).

Providing Basic Infrastructure is the duty of all responsible government. Sabah is still in dire needs of clean water and electricity supplies and the provision of good roads and transportation system.

SAPP proposes that Labuan be returned to Sabah and governed as a Special Administrative Region with additional elected State Assemblymen at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly to complement the existing Member of Parliament and be given additional funding from income derived from oil and gas.

The commitment to Youth and Women Empowerments are aimed chiefly at addressing youth unemployment and at the same time assist them to achieve their ambitions while the women have to be given more key decision-making positions in the government and politics and women in generally experience improvement to their quality of life and that of their families.

The ICT Development promise is to improve ICT infrastructure and narrow the digital divide with the building a Pan Borneo Information Highway, and providing free internet and tuition services for all schools.

The setting up of a Gaming Commission is to curb and control gaming activities as Sabahans spend RM700 million annually on licensed gaming alone.

On the Manpower Requirement and Living Wage, SAPP pledged for productivity-linked wage structure above the poverty line.

    Bah,tunggu apa lagi!

  2. The question is, how are you going to win without a one to one fight against BN?

  3. On top of that the new State Administration must ensure that all citizens irrespective of races or religions must be given equal opportunity to participate in the developments of the State and that an Anti-discriminatory and Anti-corruption laws must be adopted by the State in order for the State to move forward economically and progressively.

  4. Pentingnya lain parti bangkang yg akan menjadi sebahagian Karajaan sokong terlebih dahulu sikiarang dgn "satu deklarasi sama-sama" bersetuju modal manifesto SAPP sebelum PRU bahkan SAPP diberi laluan jadi karajaan.

Ini kali lah SAPP is the government in waiting!

  12. 1. "SAPP will pursue the setting up of a Sabah Commission of Inquiry on the illegal immigrants by invoking the Inquiry Commissions Enactment 1981 so that the sovereignty of the state and the rights of legitimate Sabahans are upheld": Too late. The Najib Administration has already gave the green light for this.

  13. 2. "Mohd Noor also said that the once SAPP formed the state government, it promised to issue Sabah IC to qualified Malaysians in Sabah and a department would be set up for the purpose.": Ain't gonna happen. The issuance of Identification Card falls under the jurusticion of the National Registration Government: which by the way is a Feredal body, not state.

  14. 3. "SAPP also pledged to Malaysians with Sabah IC that it would provide assistance directly to the target groups to eliminate hardcore poverty; to the disabled, elderly, single parents and orphans; while Sabah House in Kuala Lumpur would take on the additional responsibility of providing assistance and counseling to Sabahans working or studying or residing in Peninsular Malaysia." : How much will be allocated to these groups? What is the duration or timelie for this assistance? Where the heck will SAPP find the funds to sustain this so-called program? Is that the sound of head scratching?

  15. 4. "SAPP promised that the Anti-Hopping Law would be formulated to deter elected members of the legislative assembly and parliament from switching parties after being elected. The anti-hop principle was that any elected member who changes party shall be required to resign his/her seat." : If this law is to be implemented, then SAPP should cease to exist since they 'hop out' from BN. This law is just for them to retain their power assuming of course they are given mandate. After all, YTL was among the traitors that lead to the downfall for PBS back in the 90s.
