'FD' Sabah only important to BN now?
KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) on Thursday described the statement by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that Sabah is very important to the Barisan Nasional (BN) as aiming to woo Sabahans.
Its Secretary-General Datuk Richard Yong We Kong said there is a vast change in tone to Muhyiddin's statement when previously BN leaders described Sabah as their "fixed deposit".
On this, he said that Sabah has been taken for granted in so many ways.
"Has Sabah become important to the BN only when they need Sabah to hold on to power?
"Is Sabah also so important because they need Sabah's resources to develop other states while leaving Sabah the poorest State in the nation?" he asked.
"What about the welfare of the people, the social economic problems, the illegal immigrants and backwardness in terms of development? Are these not important to the Federal leaders? They have neglected all these crucial issues which are affecting the livelihood and security of Sabah people".
He said Federal leaders have been coming here almost on a weekly basis because they realise that Sabah is an extremely crucial factor to enable BN to hold on to power in Putrajaya.
"But have they shown any genuine sincerity for the past 50 years?" he further asked.
Yong said it is only when the political tsunami had struck that BN realised that they needed Sabah and Sarawak to cling on to power and hence started to treat Sabah as important to them.
On this he said it is a golden opportunity for the people here to restore the spirit of the Malaysia Agreement that gave Sabah equal rights in the political decision making by supporting local-based opposition parties.
By electing the local-based opposition parties, he said, the people are assured of Sabah's political autonomy and fair distribution of wealth and development including responsiveness to the needs of the people.
At the same time, he said, if the opposition were to form the next government, the people would be also assured that the position of Sabah as a partner in Malaysia would be upheld and that it would not be controlled and manipulated by peninsula based parties.

Prestasi Kewangan Negeri Sabah Kekal Cemerlang

ReplyDeletePM said that the government has done more than support Sabah in recent years.
ReplyDeleteSabahans’ rights have “never been seized” and the opposition claims are fallacies that should not be followed.
ReplyDeleteThe true worth of a leader can only be evaluated when he’s in power and not when he has no power.
ReplyDeleteThe Federal government was committed to the welfare of Sabahans and to maintain the harmony and diversity of the state’s culture.
ReplyDeletePeople no need to be easily taken in by the sweet promises of the opposition who had clearly failed to administer the states they won in the previous general election.
ReplyDeleteDon’t think national administration is so simple that we can arbitrarily spend money as we like just to become popular and get the support of the people-Najib
ReplyDeleteIt’s very easy to make promises or become dream merchants. Like the opposition in 2008 who wanted to win in Selangor and Penang and let’s not even mention Kelantan.
ReplyDeleteNajib said the opposition’s arsenal could be described in three words, which were “criticize, incite and promise.”
ReplyDeleteYES AGITATE FOR CHANGE! FOR INDEPENDENCE!
DeleteINI KALI LAH!
"A leader must know how to feel the pulse of the people and we must know the people’s aspirations. We cannot be a big leader if we are only adept at talking like the medicine seller by the road side."
ReplyDeleteOpposition will promise they can cure any disease.., that everything is possible if the people would listen to the opposition. Don’t place your hopes in leaders who are like road side medicine traders who go all over the places talking about votes and power…the question of the people’s interest is not important to them.

DeleteChief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government would continue to make it a priority to fulfill its promises to the people and attend to their problems.
ReplyDeleteHe said the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, was a clear example of this as he continuously meets the grassroots during walkabouts.

DeleteThe leaders of the country are confident in meeting the people face-to-face because they can fulfill the promises made to the rakyat.
DeleteIn this way, the people can air their problems directly so that the leaders can solve them immediately,” he said this when launching the Libaran Umno branch cluster meeting .
DeleteMusa said it was different from the opposition leaders who often made empty promises because they could not honour them.
He said they were more interested in getting the power to rule and not in defending the interests of the people as shown by what has happened in states controlled by the opposition.
DeleteMeanwhile, Musa who is also the Sabah Umno chief, reminded party members in the state not to be excessively concerned by the choice of candidates in the upcoming general election.
DeleteHe said they should focus all their efforts in updating the BN party machinery in order to ensure the people returned the mandate to the ruling government.

DeleteFurthermore, he said if they were caught up with the issue of candidates, they would not be able to focus on serving the people.
Delete“The choice of candidates in BN is determined by the leadership so let us all wait. What is important is for us to work harder to make sure the party remains strong and our party machinery is regularly updated.
ReplyDelete“If there are problems, we should solve them amicably bearing in mind that we must not destroy party unity by exaggerating small issues.
