GE13: Lajim faces three in Klias

BEAUFORT: A newcomer to politics is confident of winning against widely experienced politician, Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin in a four-cornered fight in the Klias state seat.

Sabah Progressive Party’s Mohd Sanusi Taripin, 51, who only joined politics a year ago is in the fray together with Barisan Nasional’s Isnin Aliasnih @ Liasnih, 48, and first-timer 51-year-old Aliapa Osman of the Sabah State Reform Party (Sabah Star).

Lajim, 58, is the incumbent Beaufort member of parliament and will also be defending his parliamentary seat against Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun (BN), 58, and Guan Dee Koi Hoi, 61 from Sabah Star.

It won’t be the first time that Lajim and Azizah are facing each other from opposite sides. They vied with each other in the 1985, 1986 and 1990 general elections.

The Kuala Penyu state seat will see a five-corner fight among BN’s Limus Jury, 51, from the United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation; PKR’s Johan @ Christopher O. T Ghani; Sabah Star’s Ining Sinten @ Alexander Sintin, 57; and two independent candidates Jusbian Kenneth, 50, and Md Tajuddin Md Walli, 71.
