5 May 2013 - Who are the real losers?

By voting for half past six candidates from Pakatan Rakyat and also for the existing Barisan Nasional, the people of Sabah have lost the opportunity to change the State Government.  Figuratively speaking, the people of Sabah have crashed into a ravine to avoid hitting a cat!

COMMENTARY

Dear Readers,

The people of Sabah were vanquished in the fight for political autonomy when they themselves rejected the one and only Sabah-based opposition party that is SAPP (Sabah Progressive Party).

Pakatan Rakyat has successfully split the opposition votes and now they can be the undisputed opposition with Barisan Nasional continuing to be the Sabah State Government exactly like what is happening in Sarawak presently.

Why did they still came and contested in Sabah despite knowing that they cannot win here and form the State Government?

SAPP was completely incinerated and more than 90% of their candidates lost their deposits; of what use now is the 12 opposition state seats when Barisan Nasional is still in firm control of the State Government?

The painful truth in this election is that the voters of Sabah by not voting for SAPP as the next Sabah State Government, have effectively widened and seemingly deepened their own marginalization as the poorest of the poor in Malaysia while grasping on a thin tube of miserable benefits amidst racial discrimination, corruption and immigrants reverse taking over Sabah!

If future history were to ever epitomize Yong Teck Lee as the man who never got the chance to change the fortunes of Sabah, it is definitely some sort of a Déjà Vu now when it was written in Luke 4:24 of the Christian Bible that “No prophet is accepted in his own country”.

The voters of Sabah have allowed themselves to be cheated when Anwar Ibrahim’s Pakatan Rakyat did not save the people of Sabah but actually destroyed us in the end and eventually sent all of us to the dungeons of slavery!

Pakatan Rakyat took the people of Sabah for a ride by swindling and manipulating our gullible voters into believing a blatant lie that they could change the government!

However, if SAPP were to be voted in as the State Government, it would definitely resist by all legal and legitimate means the Barisan Nasional Federal Government; but now, the BN State Government will work hand in hand with the BN Federal Government to further fleece and push us over the edge!

From now onwards, the people of Sabah can take their grouses and grievances against the two Barisan Nasional Governments to their newly-elected half-past-six assembly representatives from Pakatan Rakyat particularly the DAP and see for themselves what they are really capable of doing!

The next five years will be the toughest for each and every Sabahan because of living costs going up, swelling prices of essentials, all sorts of taxes and levies including GST (Government Sales Tax) will be slapped onto us to recover all the monies spent by the Barisan Nasional before and in the just concluded election – Good Luck to the people of Sabah!

It is now imperative that a dignified SAPP should leave the people of Sabah alone to enjoy what they have deservedly voted for; to quote from Matthew 10:14, Jesus Christ once said this to his disciples: If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave.

For those who are familiar with the intricate history and politics of Israel, Sabah is becoming exactly like Jerusalem!

To the people of Sabah who will suffer in the coming five years, SAPP is now fully qualified to use the same words of a famous Field Marshal who was deserted by his own people in a war against a tyrannical King: “We will not kill you ourselves, we just don’t have to save you anymore”…!

SAPP should respect the rights and wishes of the voters of Sabah who have put themselves into this unfortunate predicament; likewise, the people of Sabah should also respect that of every politician inside SAPP to forsake and not to remember them!

    1. "SABAH & SARAWAK UMNO MALAYA DESPERATELY NEEDS YOUR PARLIAMENTARY SEATS TO REMAIN IN POWER!

YOU ARE NOW IN POSITION TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING DEMANDS:

      1. DEMAND IMMEDIATE SELF RULE/AUTONOMY IN COMPLIANCE WITH MALAYSIA FORMATION AGREEMENTS.

      2. SABAH OR SARAWAK TAKE OVER THE PRIME MINISTER-SHIP SINCE MALAYA MONOPOLISED THIS POSITION FOR 50 YEARS.

      3. APPOINT A SABAHAN OR SARAWAKIAN TO BE THE NEXT KING OF MALAYSIA.(Hopefully there is no big jostle for this position. The second next king will be from Sabah or Sarawak whichever is the first!)

      4. REQUIRE MALAYA TO RETURN CONTROL OF OUR OIL AND ALL RESOURCES & FINANCES & GOV'T AS AGREED IN THE 20 & 18 POINTS AGREEMENTS.

      5. IMMEDIATE "BORNEONISATION"
We all know what the means- i.e. give us back our jobs!

      6. COMPLY WITH ALL THE MALAYSIA FORMATION AGREEMENTS including restoring religious freedom and all other freedoms.

      7. MALAYA WITHDRAWS ITS ARMY FROM SABAH & SARAWAK AND THEY WILL FORM THEIR OWN NATIONAL ARMIES FOR SELF DEFENCE! Malaya failed disastrously in its Malaysia justification to defend Sabah and Sarawak from illegals human wave invasions and the Sulu invasion and also used Sabah as haven and financing and training base for Filipino insurgent/terrorist groups. This seriously compromised our security as the BSRA invaded with bases already established in Sabah for over 40 years.

      8. WE SHALL RESOLVE THE ILLEGALS ISSUE BY SENDING ALL ILLEGALS TO MALAYA.

      9. DISMANTLE UMNO'S APARTHEID SYSTEM FOR A FAIR JUST AND EQUAL SOCIETY.

      10. THE DEMANDS ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE.

      11. IF UMNO DOES NOT AGREE TO ALL THESE DEMANDS, SABAH AND SARAWAK NEGOTIATE WITH PAKATAN FOR SAME POINTS.

      12. IF PAKATAN DOES NOT AGREE SABAH AND SARAWAK IMMEDIATELY DECLARE INDEPENDENCE! (The governments are in place for a peaceful changeover.)

Malaya UMNO take note- neither Musa or Taib will remain loyal to you forever if not for your army and police protecting their regimeS. This is the only successful part of your 1960s' “security & prosperity” justification for forming Malaysia. The other part is their part of the bargain is a free hand for them to plunder Sabah and Sarawak WHILE Malaya grabbed our oil resources.

      13. Sabah Sarawak State governments are in a unique position to redeem themselves as patriots and not be forever seen as traitors any more by making these demands.

      MALAYA HAND BACK OUR COUNTRY!"

  3. Please refrain from quoting the Scriptures, as Yong Teck Lee and SAPP is diametrically opposite to the relevance of the quoted passages.

  4. VIDAL YOU ARE CORRECT. WE WILL ENDURE NOT JUST 5 YEARS BUT MORE YEARS OF MALAYAN COLONIAL ENSLAVEMENT IN MALAYSIA!

PKR intervened in Sabah for the simple reason of stopping Sabah parties from mounting its challenge for autonomy even to the extent of handing the elections to UMNO.

This is how important Sabah and Sarawak are to the Malayans.

Our 2 unfortunate countries are their Reserve Banks and resource centres and now definitely proven their vote banks.

This colonial mindset is set out in PKR's Book of Jingles which says one of its agendas is to "integrate" Sabah and Sarawak more closely with Malaya.

This seems strange. UMNO had already done that for 50 years. NAJIB declared following their failure to prevent the Sulu invasion that Sabah is "forever a part of Malaysia"!

They have Malayanised everything starting with our oil, our land, our civil and education services, finances and resources against every promise in the 20 points Agreement relating to these aspects.

Borneonisation was thrown out by 1965 when Sabah and Sarawak were not included in the negotiations on Singapore's exit from Malaysia. They locked the door on us!

Now Sabah like Sarawak will become the playground for the 2 Malayan elephants. The little Borneo elephant will like a football.

Those Sabahans (part and present) who helped PKR or UMNO gain a foothold in Sabah will hopefully see the extent of their matricidal betrayal of their motherland.

One salient point we have to learn from the elections to that we need to unite to fight the common enemy. Fighting among ourselves does not give confidence to the people to back local parties.

Dare we look across the Sulu Sea and see how the Filipinos fought for their national independence and freedom from Spain and the sacrifices they made?

Their national hero Jose Rizal preferred to die instead of surrendering to the Spanish colonialists' demand that he renege on his cause. They shot him. He did not die in vain. His murder stirred Filipinos united as a nation to fight the common enemy. He did not ask what his country could do for him. He did what he could for his country!

Sadly on May 5 2103 Sabahans did not unite so they could take the first step to free themselves from the Malayan colonial demon. You know a demon can mesmerise, lie and mislead its victim in so many ways and guises. This is what the Malayan snake oil salesmen have done for the last 50 years.

if we don't help ourselves to take action to free ourselves we will only be terrorised by this demon for another half a century.

The question now is do we fight for autonomy in Malaysia or for independence outside Malaysia?

Some Sabahans and also Sarawakians have decided that they want Sabah Sarawak to keluar Malaysia. The current signature on their Petition stand at over 7500 names.

If we are not decided, we just need to look at 2 original components of the proposed Malaysia concept Brunei and Singapore and understand what real freedom and independence means.

They are not in Malaysia and hence escape the hell fires of Malaysia.

So Sabahans, take your time to think about your country's destiny. You have another 5 year or more.

  6. we really dont know who is at fault, Why has there been 3, ,4,5, corner fights? Perhaps it would be more intelligent to sit down, talk, compromise and strategise, so the future generations will take on the bn in a 2 corner election contest.... 'If you dont give, you wont get any'... in fact you might just lose it all.

  7. The view of this author does not reflect the official stand of SAPP, post-election. SAPP leaders will continue to serve the communities they are in wherever possible and to monitor the performance of the newly elected assembly persons and re-elected state government from the outside (unfortunately).

As for the seats contested by SAPP, they were the exact ones laid on the table while negotiations with Anwar Ibrahim were ongoing (8 P. and 41 N. seats), before he did the sudden turnabout and slammed the door after Lajim & Bumburing jumped out of BN to offer themselves to contest for PKR. In the end, what really mattered to Anwar didn't materialise (i.e. gaining Parliamentary Seats using Lajim & Bumburing), and PKR lost some members in the process.

    1. THAT IS A FAMILIAR LINE... WAS IT L.NEIL SMITH?

So it is our duty to push the boundaries and not be guilty of doing nothing. That would be our greatest sin!

    2. Yes, L. Neil Smith.

It pains me to say this, but I'm under the impression that Sabahans want to be slaves. Obviously not all of them, but most. Perhaps the chains of slavery have been on them for so long that it has become a part of them.
