Hiew: Sabah DAP leaders have no say, 'only puppets of KL'

KOTA KINABALU - Sabah DAP is set to lose more of its senior members who are dissatisfied with the party's leadership, said former state chief Hiew King Cheu.

He said the dissatisfaction stem from directives by some of the party top leaders in Kuala Lumpur that caused members here to feel that democracy in DAP was being curtailed.

"Among this is the order that Sabah DAP elected representatives support Tamparuli State Assemblyman Datuk Wilfred Bumburing as the opposition chief," Hiew said on Friday.

"This had caused unease among the party leaders here because they had no say in the selection of Opposition chief," he said.

Hiew had quit as Sabah DAP advisor and subsequently from the party altogether last September partly over the issue.

On Dec 31, Sabah DAP deputy chief Fred Fung Kong Win announced his resignation from the party.

He said he could no longer work with "ungrateful leaders" in DAP.
