State Police Commissioner Datuk Wira Hamza Taib, declined to reveal the contradictions in order not to jeopardise police investigations.
Low Yee Shang, 31, was rearrested on Monday, after being twice remanded together with his wife and a friend, when it was found out that he was wanted in connection with a cheating case in Klang.
"We also believe that the boy is still in Sabah and safe.
We are seeking public cooperation in this matter and they can channel the information to a nearby police station," he told a press conference after launching a Blood Donation Programme in conjunction with 207th Police Day at Karamunsing Complex, Tuesday.

The boy went missing from his father's Toyota Hilux Vigo which was supposedly stolen near a petrol kiosk in Kg Air, here, last Friday.
The vehicle was recovered several hours later without the boy.
The boy was last seen dressed in a green T-shirt and brown shorts and was believed to have been asleep in the rear seat of his father's vehicle when his father supposedly went to the toilet at the petrol kiosk at 5.35am.
Meanwhile, Hamza said both kidnap victims of Pulau Baik off Lahad Datu and Singamata Resort in Semporna are alive and well.
He said Sabah police are still investigating both cases while Bukit Aman Police are making efforts to rescue the victims together with the Philippines counterparts.
