Kidnapped fish farm operator's wife appeals for gov’t help

The wife of a fish farm owner who was kidnapped along Sabah’s troubled east coast five months ago made her way to the Parliament today to appeal to MPs and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to help return her husband.

Chin Pek Yuen today handed over a memorandum to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Shahidan Kassim to seek the government’s attention on her plight, after her husband, Chan Sai Chiun, 32, from Perak, was kidnapped off the coast of Kunak on June 16.

Kidnappers have demanded a massive ransom of RM3 million, and she said she and her family are unable to come up with such a large amount of money.
