Masing wants Maidin banned from Sarawak

"Those who support extremists like Perkasa, Pekida and ISMA should have the laws thrown at them.”

KUCHING - Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) President James Masing wants former Federal Minister, Zainuddin Maidin, to be barred from Sarawak for consistently espousing extremist views and keeping company with blacklisted groups like Perkasa, Pekida and ISMA whose leaders are also no longer welcome in Sarawak.

“Those who support these extremists should have the laws thrown at them,” said James, who is also Land Minister, in calling for a stand against bigotry and extremism. “If I am tool of someone, it is because I am a tool of moderation, justice and fair play in Malaysia.”

“Extremism which Perkasa, Pekida and ISMA represent should be stopped.”

James was commenting on Maidin posting in his blog that he (James) was a tool of Pakatan Rakyat by opposing the seizure of Christian literature recently at KLIA2 by the Customs Department. Maidin also claimed that James’s remarks border on sedition since he was fostering disunity and “confusing” Christians.

James reiterated that those who support these extremists should have the laws thrown at them without fear or favour. “Don’t taint Malaysia with bigotry, extremism and racism. After all Malaysia is being projected as a nation of moderates” he added.
