Teresa Kok's comment on Tanduo intrusion angers Sabah leaders

KOTA KINABALU - Teresa Kok's statement that the Tanduo intrusion by Sulu terrorists was an old story and not serious is insensitive to the people of Sabah who were badly affected by the incident, says Datuk Juslie Ajirol.

"She has taken the Tanduo incident very lightly when the bloody tragedy had actually left a dark stain on the history of the state," the Sabah MPs Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club chairman said.

Juslie, who is also Libaran MP, said the question of national security should not be politicised.

"Our leaders have been working tirelessly to protect the security and maintain unity of the people. Never allow political differences to undermine our security and dignity," he said.

Meanwhile, Tenom MP Datuk Raimi Unggi also lambasted Kok, who is also DAP vice-chairman, saying she was ignorant of the security threats Sabah faced.

Sabah United Party vice-president Datuk Jamilah Sulaiman said the intrusion in Lahad Datu in 2013 was a serious incident and was not a drama staged by the Government. - Bernama
