RCI must immediately begin and complete job before GE – Bumburing

TAMPARULI: The Royal Commission of Inquiry on the presence of illegal immigrants in Sabah must be allowed to carry out its job before the 13th general election.

Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS) president Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred M Bumburing in making the call said this would ensure that the electoral rolls would be purged of illegal voters.

Speaking at a Pakatan Rakyat-APS public seminar here recently, the Tuaran member of parliament urged the federal government to let the RCI on illegal immigrants to completely carry out their functions and finish their job before the 13th general election was called.

“This will thereafter pave the way for the electoral rolls to be rectified and cleaned up by getting rid of any illegal voters. In this respect, the RCI must immediately begin their job in order to complete their job in time.

“The Election Commission must also follow up by getting rid of any questionable voters. We fully support the call by Bersih to have a free and fair election and this means to clean up the electoral rolls from any illegal or phantom voters,” Bumburing said.

He added that APS respected and accepted any political groups given the mandate to form the next government only if the said government elected to power was elected through the due process of law by not having any dubious voters listed in the electoral rolls.

APS, he claimed, had discovered one glaring example where a woman voter whose home address was stated as being in Peninsular Malaysia but listed as a voter in the Silam constituency.

Although the Election Commission may have done their so-called cleaning up in the past, however, the outcome of the RCI will be able to assist them to enable to speed up the process, he said.

At the same time APS is ready to provide any assistance to the authorities if necessary, to identify any dubious voters that might still be listed in the electoral rolls.

“One of the core struggles of APS is to urge the federal authorities to restore the trust promised to Sabah as provided for in the Malaysia Agreement in return for Sabah’s agreeing to the formation of Malaysia.

“This also includes the guarantee that Sabah’s sovereignty will be protected which have now been clearly violated when the federal government blatantly awarded citizenships to undeserving foreigners through dubious means.

“These new “citizens” thereafter were then listed in electoral rolls as voters which enabled them to participate in the country’s electoral process, thus giving them the same rights as the locals. This clearly is a violation of our sovereign rights as Malaysian citizens which should have been protected by the BN government,” Bumburing stressed.

The function was also attended by Tuaran DAP chairman Peter Liew, PKR National Council member Datuk Kalakau Untol, APS vice-presidents Datuk Dr Richard Gunting and Datuk Herman Tiongsoh, APS secretary general Petrus Guriting and several leaders from other PR component members.

  2. BROTHER DON'T WASTE TIME OVER THIS RCI BULLSHIT- THEY NEVER GOT ANYWHERE WITH MACC SUICIDES ENQUIRIES NOT TO MENTION MISSING MONGOLISAN MADAMS!

The FIRST RCI we in Sabah and Sarawak experienced was the Cobbold Commission Enquiry on the Malaysia federation plan.

For a start the Commission was conducted by UK colonial officials and Malayans! READ the heading on page 1.

    Where was the SS participation?

    They were the interviewees!

So the result was not surprising. Both UK and Malaya were keen to annex Sabah Sarawak into "Malaysia".

The UK wanted to consolidate their colonial economic interest under one admin umbrella and the Malayans had territorial expansionist plans. The rest is history- albeit the UMNO version at school.

SO why are Sabahans clamouring for no more RCI when the result will be served up as a plate of warmed up bullshit?

Get into your heads the sooner you demand de-colonisation of Sabah Sarawak and independence the better.

      Delete
    13. OK GUYS- I WILL TRY NOT TO SHOUT. HERE IS A REPLY TO ALL YOU UNSURE OF HOW TO PROCEED.

First we know the RCI is not going to be an "independent" body since you can guess what sort of people will be appointed.

In M'sia nothing is unbaised or NOT bent towards UMNO's interest. There can be no independent body.

WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR decisions on dead MACC interviewees and the blown up Mongolian lady.

The Malayan court just ruled in the Lynas case that the eco damage claimed by those opposed to it is "premature". So you become more cynical. Right?

“Premature” (!) despite that they already got the Bukit Merah rare earth horror example which the Japanese are still cleaning up and paying compensation. There is also example of the Mukah aluminium pollution in Sarawak which is developing as people report health issues and changes to water and food chain issues.

If you have not forgotten or have no family affected, Sabah is still suffering from the major pollution from the Japanese operated Mt Mamut copper mine.

Have any of you concerned brothers looked into this disaster which has affected a mega area of beautiful Sabah and are those who raped our environment doing bugger all about it? No one remembers?

Maybe we had our hands in the till too and dare not say anything?

Where is there a demand for an RCI into this or the problem is buried with the poisonous waste now affecting thousands of poor peasants- healthwise and their sources of livelihood water and food chains?

The reality is that even with world class enviro-protection in place, those in power care more for their pockets than the people's health and prefer to get the profits and not interfere with the workings of foreign multinationals – period!

Sorry I'm "shouting" but just angrrryy that these crooks are always getting away with their crimes!

      So you ask what alternatives?

      Here is one.

Sabah under the Malaysia agreement has control over immigration, its resources, finances and taxation.

And folks- why are not the Sabah authorities in charge and rounding up the "illegals" and deporting them to Malaya?

Furthermore, why are we paying blind, taxes and oil revenue to Kuala Lumpur? This was not part of the deal!

The fact is that we have been emasculated and deprived of our immigration powers together with all the other 20 points!

We were Malayanised! We do not control our own affairs and destiny!

So if Sabah were an independent country like Singapore or Brunei (which have not been invaded by Indonesia or Philippines yet as you are all CONSTANTLY REMINDED of) and controlled its borders would there be such a huge problem??

There was N.O.N.E Prior to 1963!

If the British colonials could control the borders why can't the Malayan version (colonial master) control our borders???

UMNO has its own sinister mass transmigration programme to tighten its control of Sabah and Sarawak through building up its local electoral bases and fulfil its religious programme with illegals. Do not cover your eyes from the reality. How many Christian illegals are there huh?

We are being turned into a totalitarian racist/apartheid mono-culture religious state!

So ask yourself why bother demanding an RCI when you should be demanding at least the deportation on all illegals dating back to 1963 to MALAYA? They make the problems they bear the burden just like UK! Reverse colonisation by the colonised.

If you feel angry enough why not demand Sabah independence!
