Police stumbled upon firearms, bullets in Tanduo

General Operations Force (PGA) personnel stumbled upon seven pieces of firearms and 173 live bullets while on an ‘Ops Taring’ patrol around Tanduo at Felda Sahabat in Lahad Datu yesterday.

Lahad Datu Police chief ACP Hamzah Ahmad said the firearms and bullets were found at about 1pm in a sack buried in the ground.

He said an excavator was mobilised to unearth the sack containing five pistols with three magazines, two M14 rifles with two magazines, 173 live bullets and a pair of handcuffs.

“The PGA team members from Komtek Sahabat 16 and Pos Tanjung Labian made the discovery,” he said in Lahad Datu today.

Hamzah said all the items were handed over to the Cenderawasih Felda Sahabat police station for further action.
