Health minister says Zika cases now over 40

KUALA LUMPUR - The Health Ministry suspects the number of Zika infections in the country is growing.

Its minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the number of confirmed incidents remains at four, but have revised their current estimates of suspected cases from 30 to over 40.

“We will fully run the necessary test for each case, and once any of it is confirmed, we will announce it,” he told reporters after launching a gallery at MIC headquarters here today to commemorate the party’s 70th anniversary.

“It was [announced as] 30 the other day, but now it is more than 40,” he added.
