ROS approves 35 STAR Divisions

KOTA KINABALU - “The Registrar of Societies (ROS) has approved the Party to form 35 Divisions based on the State Constituencies and we have formalized formation of 16 of them. We have also approved 10,000 new members out of the 30,000 applications and are printing additional membership forms to meet the additional request,” said Guandee Kohoi, Secretary General of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) in a press statement released today.

“We expect to have all 30 Divisions and the divisional committees registered with the ROS by the end of this October,” added Guandee.

Since its re-branding and launching on 14th July 2015, there have been numerous requests to set up additional Divisions as many feel that the current wave of support for Sabah rights is best channelled with YB. Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan as the rightful leader.

STAR is now focused on committed and quality leaders and supporters who will be better equipped to attract votes’ support in the forthcoming PRU-14 elections.

As for the PRU-14 elections, STAR is fully committed to its coalition partners in Gabungan Sabah or the United Sabah Alliance who are willing to work with the Sabah opposition to change the BN Sabah government.

The Party leadership will decide on the additional Divisions and submit to the ROS for approval in due course as required.   All Divisions are fully committed to support Gabungan Sabah candidates and other opposition candidates supported by Gabungan to ensure a 1 to 1 contest with the BN.

STAR is confident that with its growing strength, its Division leaders and members in constituencies which it is not contesting, will contribute to ensure success and wins for the opposition against BN.
