Sabah RCI...just a pack of BN lies

Both the federal and the state Umno-BN governments are in a standoff over the issue of a RCI on the exponential increase in Sabah's illegal population.

KOTA KINABALU: The federal and state Barisan Nasional leaders are in a standoff over the setting up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the rapid increase of the population of Sabah since the 1990s when peninsula-based Umno spread its wings there.

On one side is the state BN leaders, saying that the RCI is “a done deal”. And when a little later, nothing happened, they chant “it must be set up”. Then when that argument fails to elicit a response, they feign exasperation.

Madu ke-3 ‘DATUK S’

Oleh By Sabahkini.Net

Usno old hands to ‘power-up’ Jeffrey’s party

Luke Rintod

Umno is fearful of a resurgent Usno in Sabah because it would easily outweigh the peninsula-based party, said a son of former chief minister Tun Mustapha Harun.

PAPAR: One of the sons of former Sabah chief minister Tun Mustapha Harun who has been trying to revive his father’s party is determined that the state Umno-led Barisan Nasional coalition government be replaced by a Sabah-based political party.

Poverty in Ranau

Luke Rintod
There's a misconception that Ranau constituency, which is famed for its vegetables terraces at the foothill of Mount Kinabalu, is wealthier than its neighbours.

RANAU: Surrounded by the rural-most parts of several poverty-stricken districts bordering it, Ranau is often considered better off than its neighbours. But that’s a misconception. It is well in contention for the poorest district in Sabah.

An undulating land, famed for its vegetable terraces at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, Ranau is still known for its rustic and hard lifestyle.

Here in Ranau, basic amenities are few and far between.

Overnight, a squatter settlement with 1,000 'new' illegal Filipinos and Indonesian immigrants has sprung up in Keningau.

Luke Rintod

The Sabah government delivers on the promise to give houses to the poor but fails to give them water and electricty.

Sabah ‘successful’: Get real, Rahman

Raymond Tombung

If Sabah is truly "successful", as flogged by Musa Aman, than why are 500,000 youths working in Peninsular Malaysia and in Singapore with more still unemployed in the state?

KOTA KINABALU:  Sabah Barisan Nasional leaders’ ‘blind’ adulation of Musa Aman’s charge over the state administration is frustrating STAR Sabah chairman Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

OPS Gembleng, Kerakyatan Songsang (SIRI II)

Religious and Racial Unity Not BN Govt's priority

By Jeswan Kaur

Since when has Christianity become the 'enemy of the state', so much so that a seminar is deemed necessary to brainwash young Muslims into hating everything to do with Christianity?

Does religious harmony count for anything in this country of 28 million people? Hardly, as far as the Barisan Nasional (BN) government is concerned.

Christians the sacrificial lambs to deflect attention on BN's corruption

It looks like the Umno-aligned media is all out to divert the people's attention from issues of endemic corruption engulfing Prime Minister Najib Razak's administration, and as usual, Christians have once again been picked to be the sacrificial lambs for him and his Umno-BN coalition to cleanse themselves on.

"This is the same issue over and over again, using religion for political end. The proof of the pudding is in the eating and with so many laws to protect the Muslims, why should there be threat of Christianization. These are acts that are not in line with path of moderation as prescribed by our Prime Minister Najib Razak or his 1 Malaysia," Ramon Navaratnam, a Christian lay leader and prominent civil society leader, told Malaysia Chronicle.

Middlemen are selling MyKads in Sabah for between RM5,000 and RM20,000 apiece

Middlemen are selling MyKads in Sabah for between RM5,000 and RM20,000 apiece, even as NRD admits that hopeful foreigners are lining up to get their bit of Malaysia.

KOTA KINABALU: Even as Malaysian-born Indians and native Orang Asli children in Peninsular Malaysia are forced to prove their legitimacy as citizens, over in Sabah the federal government is freely granting “stateless” children citizenship simply because it is “too expensive” to travel to report the birth of these children.

How much was Oxford Business Group paid?

Clare Rewcastle Brown

The Oxford Business Group's Country Report on the Malaysian economy is nothing more that a public relations spin commissioned by the Barisan Nasional government, claims a British journalist.

First it was APCO and FBC Media. Now the grandiosely entitled Oxford Business Group (OBG) has stepped into the role of paid cheerleader for the Malaysian Government.

Racism exists in Malaysia

Racism still exists in Malaysia. Some more a certain group of religious bastards are fanatics

Salleh's twisted lies are totally outrageous and shocking!

It was really appalling the way Datuk Salleh Said Keruak tried to explain our problems in Sabah when he gave the closing speech at the social media convention at UMS last Saturday (March 17). He simply said it is all our own faults. Meaning, even if there was no Federal Government, if there was no politics of federalism, we would still be in this mess, because we have faults. So, “Let’s blame ourselves,” he said.

After Datuk Seri Musa Aman accused the opposition of politicizing the illegal immigrants, now we get this total nonsense from Salleh. It looks like Umno Sabah is on a roll, with the leaders taking their turns attacking the opposition’s issues, to try to make the people believe it all has nothing to do with Umno or BN or the Federal Government. It’s all because of the stupidity of Sabahans themselves! So expect the next leader, Datuk Yahya Hussein maybe, to come up with another fairytale about why Sabah is sinking fast.
