SAPP extends assistance to family of paralysed man

TAWAU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) came to the aid of a man who was paralysed following a stroke three years ago and has eight schoolgoing children.

SAPP vice president Datuk Chua Soon Bui together with SAPP supreme councillors CK Yong, Kenneth Goh and party leaders visited the Chin family and rendered assistance to pay for school fees, books and computer fees for some of the children to ensure all eight children can continue with their education.

Chua, who is also the Tawau member of parliament, said Chin who had been paralysed from a stroke three years ago, found it difficult to pay the rising costs of education for his children who are attending classes in kindergaden and up to Form Four.

"They are now living in a rented house in Taman Semarak. I am, touched by the spirit of thc family, especially Mrs Chin who has been doing odd jobs and collecting plastic and paper for recycling sale.

Since her husband was disabled three years ago, she had never allowed her children to go hungry and continued to brace hardship so that the children can continue with their studies.

"No matter how poor they are, the children must finish their education so that they will have a better future," she said yesterday.

Mrs Chin managed to trace the SAPP group during their new year visits to the shoplots and had touched the hearts of the members.

SAPP members will also bring Chinese New Year goodies to the family so that they too will enjoy the warm spirit of tne New Year festival.

    2. Family planning is indeed important especially for hardcore poor families. Some have too much children and they are not able to care for them. I've seen some families have 6 children and more but the parents monthly income is only RM400 to RM600.
