DAP plot to wipe out all local parties

By Datuk Richard Yong

DAP Sabah and Dr Edwin Bosi must stop insulting local parties unless it is the DAP plot to wipe out all local parties so to destroy the chance of Sabahans fight for autonomy as agreed in the 1963 Malaysia Agreement. On September 16, 2008 YB Lim Kit Siang has announced Pakatan Plus SAPP formula, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim had also made landmark stand to work with SAPP. Why Dr Edwin, Tan Kok Wai and some DAP members want to destroy all the cooperation among the opposition parties? Is it because of their hidden agenda to help UMNO as proven at the Batu Sapi by-election?

Is that the reason each time the DAP leaders from KL came to Sabah accused SAPP for not wanting to join in Pakatan Rakyat?

It is really unfortunate the DAP election bureau chairman Tan Kok Wai had to issue ultimatum to SAPP and to threaten SAPP. It is even more regrettable to see the local DAP leaders started talking like their superior from KL. To them Sabah autonomy is meaningless which is why they don't have respect for Sabah parties.

SAPP left BN together with leaders who gave up posts and positions all for the purpose of fighting for more autonomy for Sabah. SAPP leaders and its president took risks and faced political challenges without fear all for the sake of fighting for more rights for Sabah.

On the policy framework, SAPP has been supportive of the national opposition agenda for change and Pakatan's pursue to the Putrajaya.

On 5 September, 2011, Anwar Ibrahim made a landmark statement that Pakatan can negotiate with SAPP and SAPP need not join Pakatan Rakyat in achieving one to one fight against the BN and subsequent to that PKR has had several discussions and the progress of cooperation is positive. Why then DAP leaders like Tan Kok Wai has to utter threatening remarks that SAPP must join Pakatan and was followed by DAP Sabah secretary, Dr Edwin Bosi issuing statement to belittle and insult SAPP, this kind of statement shown no intention to cooperate but to cause fight and create rift.

Dr Edwin mentioned about Batu Sapi by-election, the most bitter part of the election is to have seen the true face of the DAP which launched political campaign and attacks only at SAPP and shamelessly celebrated beating SAPP. They appeared to have joined hand with the BN trying to wipe out SAPP who forever fervently talking about Sabah rights.

On one hand DAP insisting SAPP must join Pakatan, on the other hand it is hammering SAPP. They don't display any basic courtesy. Coming from KL to Sabah DAP tried to assume the position as boss and not showing any respect to Sabah parties. Which is why SAPP kept emphasizing Sabah must have more autonomy.

I hope our local politicians could show some respect to Sabah autonomy without which everything is lost.

  2. Just like those umno's politicians from Malaya, DAP politicians are no different. They have no respect for local parties. & like to become big brother to local parties. They will not share the same platform with local parties to fight for Sabahan's rights & Sabah autonomy. Their main agenda just like umno is to take control of the State's natural resources & State revenues.
