SAPP to DAP: Stop the slander!

KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) youth wings would like to thank DAP Sabah for highlighting the RCI issue affecting Sabah but urged DAP Sabah to stop their nonsense and rhetoric slander of SAPP said John Stephen Dionysius.

"Just to highlight this matter to Junz Wong of DAP, even before SAPP's pullout from Barisan Nasional during the tenure of ex-Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, SAPP has relentlessly demanded the government to take serious action on the problem of massive influx of illegal immigrants into Sabah. A 14-point proposals and ideas contained in the memorandum "Time for Direct Preventive Actions" was submitted to the then Prime Minister in 2006 but no action was taken.

"In fact, earlier on in 1999, SAPP had already submitted a memorandum titled "Illegal Immigrants: Mother of All Threats" and this 14-point memorandum was an addition.

However, SAPP's persistence on this matter was viewed negatively and been considered "a thorn in the flesh" by BN top leadership.

John Stephen said in order to refresh Junz Wong's memory, SAPP youth has ran a state-wide campaign for RCI of 100,000 signatures from the public and submitted petition to the state assembly led by SAPP Youth Chief Edward Dagul as well as to the parliament by SAPP Member of Parliament for Sepanggar Datuk Eric Majimbun and MP for Tawau Datuk Chua Soon Bui.

"SAPP has been consistent in demanding for an answer to the illegal immigrants threat," John stressed.

"What has DAP Sabah done for the people here? DAP Sabah is incapable of doing things by themselves in Sabah but have to rely heavily on their Malayan counterparts, who will just come, slam and slander SAPP and go back home to KL", said John, who is SAPP KK Zone Youth Chief.

"The people of Sabah would be very eager to know how Sabah DAP would resolve this perennial problem after the revelations of RCI since they are trying to champion it.

John reiterated that SAPP in its party manifesto would issue every genuine Sabahan a "Sabah IC" to distinguish the non-legitimate citizens who holds Project IC and it will be most beneficial to the people of Sabah, if it comes to power.
