Art gives "recipe" for PAS offer to "save Malaysia"

PETALING JAYA - The willingness of PAS to cooperate with its political rival Umno to “save” the country has not gone unnoticed by lawyer cum social activist Azhar Harun, who feeling “deeply touched” by their altruism, hailed the Islamist party as the “saviour” of Malaysia.

In a Facebook posting dripping with subtle sarcasm at every turn, Art, as he is popularly known, also stated his conviction that there was no hidden political motive behind PAS’ noble gesture nor any wish on their part to see rural folk in particular made into “religious slaves and ulamak-centric people” at the end of the day.

Stating however that he was “unclear” as to what exactly PAS intended to save the country from, Art pointed out they had been a dismal failure in Kelantan, despite governing the state for “30 thousand years” and had lost Terengganu and Kedah earlier after only one term.

“Anyway, as I said, I am touched by your selfless act to save Malaysia. Kudos,” Art said, before launching into a range of issues he hoped PAS could help advise Umno on.

Heading the list was their plan on increasing the value of the ringgit and propping up the stock market and foreign reserve. Apart from balancing the budget, Art also wanted PAS’ advice on preventing the illicit outflow of funds from the country.

He said the education standard was another issue of importance that PAS could advise Umno on as well as the 1Malaysia Development Berhad issue that was as yet unresolved.

In referring to the contentious RM2.6 billion Prime Minister Najib Razak received, Art said he wanted PAS’ advise on how to “stop our leaders from receiving undeclared donations into their respective personal and private accounts” apart from tips on tackling corruption, cementing racial and religious integration and stopping our leaders from being “hypocrites.”

Before taking his leave, he said: “Oh, while you are at it, could you also please advise: (a) The PM on how to sue WSJ; (b) The DPM on how to extradite Claire Brown.” - FMT
