Gabungan Sabah is surprised by this latest turn of events because PCS has, at the last two meetings of the Gabungan Sabah Full Council, reiterated their position to remain in Gabungan Sabah, said Datuk Haji Mohd Noor Mansoor.
The Chairman of Gabungan Sabah said this in a statement issued in response to the press conference held by PCS President today to inform of PCS decision to leave Gabungan Sabah.
The only issue that arose in between those meetings and the PCS decision today is the issue of Ketua Pembangkang in the Dewan Undangan Negeri, added Datuk Mohd Noor, the Chairman of Gabungan Sabah.
“Is it therefore to be understood that the PCS decision to leave Gabungan Sabah is caused by the manipulation of other parties to make the PCS President the new Ketua Pembangkang to replace the President of Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah, who is also a fellow member of Gabungan Sabah? If that is the case, then it is sad that PCS has chosen a path that goes against the wishes of Sabahans to see a truly united Sabah coalition of local parties, opined Datuk Mohd Noor.
“It has been only five months since the signing of the Gabungan Sabah Charter and the Declaration in November, 2016 as OUR pledge to the people of Sabah. Not to mention that PCS has also pledge itself to the 15 Core Struggles of Gabungan Sabah. Surely, the deviation from this Gabungan Sabah struggle goes against the aspirations of Sabahans in our fight to regain Full Autonomy.
Datuk Mohd Noor concluded by requesting PCS and its members to sincerely reflect and return to the true path of Sabahans’ struggle and not fall into the trap of divide and rule by the enemies of Sabah people.
