DBKK launches online services

KOTA KINABALU - Ratepayers in the city can now enjoy easier and faster services of City Hall via online, with the launching of its new application system called E-services, Thursday.

Through the E-services which is open 24 hours and seven days a week, they can pay assessment fees, renew trading licences and settle compounds either by using credit card or bank transfer.

They can access the facility via the City Hall's website at https://eservices.dbkk.sabah.gov.my/ or scan a QR Code provided in the system.

"The application was developed to better facilitate the public who have official dealings with City Hall.

Through the facility, the public, especially clients, can deal with the local authority in a very easy and convenient way "Social media applications such as Facebook, blogs, Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram, among others, have gained fast popularity and are becoming an important communication media among people of all ages.

"In line with this, City Hall has taken the initiative to make the social media as a platform to deliver information on services available and issues related to the people.

"With the implementation of the E-services, City Hall will not only be able to enhance its level of service delivery but also increase the channels of revenue collection," he said when launching the facility at City Hall.

Also present were Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai, City Hall Director-General Datuk Amrullah Kamal and other senior officials. Arifin said the clients can enjoy City Hall's services by accessing the E-services at any place and any time.

He urged the public to render full support and cooperation and to give constructive feedback and views.

Arifin said registration for the E-services is needed for those paying assessment rates and renewal of licences.

"This is necessary to prevent mistakes when making payments as well as to protect the users' privacy and to enable them to update their personal data."

He said the E-services would also enable the users to keep track of their payments. - Hayati Dzulkifli
