The source said the 57-year-old man called Datuk Nani holds two different MyKads, although it is not clear whether both bear his real name.
“One of the names shows that he was declared bankrupt in 2010. However, he has one other ‘clean’ MyKad which allows him to be nominated as a candidate in the upcoming party election,” it said.
It is believed that a complaint was lodged against the individual to the PKR election committee, accompanied with a letter from the National Registration Department (NRD).
The man is believed to be the head of a newly established non-governmental organisation that aims to assist stateless people in Sabah.
A report is also being filed with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
