STAR: Land Reforms Masterplan – NCR First, Sabah Land for Sabahans First

The purpose of this Press Conference is to announce the LAND AND NCR REFORMS MASTERPLAN of STAR Sabah and the relevant portion of the STATE ADMINISTRATION REFORMS related to land administration which forms part of the Land and NCR Masterplan.

“Under its Land and NCR Reforms Masterplan, STAR will respect and restore the rights of natives to NCR and native lands and prioritize land for all Sabahans based on its policy and vision “NCR FIRST, SABAH LAND FOR SABAHANS FIRST”.

The Land and NCR Reforms Masterplan has 3 key objectives:-
(1) Reforms of the laws and administration relating to land and NCR;
(2) A more effective and efficient land administration and management;
(3) Resolution of land and NCR problems.

“STAR: Govt Must Solve NCR Problems Not Talk”

“The State Government should immediately take remedial action to solve the NCR and other land problems and not waste precious time to discuss whether it recognizes native customary rights (NCR) after 1930 as opined by the State Attorney General that NCR were extinguished by the Land Ordinance, 1930” stated Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chairman, in response to the statement by the Chief Minister that the Cabinet had discussed NCR at length and will be seeking the views of BN component parties and other experts.


BN govt dragging its feet on NCR problems

PENAMPANG: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) said the present State Barisan Nasional (BN) Government is purposely delaying to solve problems over land matters which has Native Customary Rights (NCR).

SAPP President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee said such tactics were used because the general election is about to be held soon.

Villagers vowed to protect their NCR land

Hundreds of villagers from Kampung Bungaliu and Kampung Bubuk are determined to stop the survey of the land for a agropolitan project.


KOTA BELUD: In a remote corner of Sabah, a showdown is looming between natives of two kampungs near Pandasan here and government officers who are scheduled to do a land survey for a proposed 3,000-acre agropolitan project on what the natives claim is their land.

Four Tongod villages affected by oil palm plantation-SAPP


KOTA KINABALU: Four villages in Tongod are affected by an oil palm plantation, claimed a supreme council member of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).

Peter Marajin said the villages of Napagang, Maragatan, Lumingkau and Tongodon were now reduced to small plots of lands along a main road, surrounded by the palm oil plantation.
