KOTA KINABALU: Kenyataan yang dibuat oleh Presiden KDCA Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan bahawa tidak wujud sebarang Bumiputera baru yang memperoleh status anak negeri di Sabah adalah amat membimbangkan, kata Timbalan Presiden Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) Datuk Eric Majimbun.

"Kenyataan pemimpin agung KDCA itu adalah amat merunsingkan tanpa mengambil kira apa yang berlaku di sekitar Sabah, terutama pengeluaran taraf anak negeri kepada warga asing hanya kerana mereka mempunyai MyKad yang diragui di bawah Ordinan Tafsiran Anak Negeri.

After the revelation yesterday by several blogs and portals including Harakahdaily about a non-citizen registered as a voter – only to find the person’s status changed to ‘Malaysian citizen’ hours later, a PAS division has discovered many similar cases.

According to the division’s deputy chairman, Mismah, a voter in Ijok whose status had been listed as a permanent resident holding a MyPR red card on the National Registration Department’s website before it changed to a blue MyKad, is not the last person to be that lucky.

KOTA KINABALU: The blame game for the massive illegal immigrants in Sabah is now at the feet of former chief minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh.

Earlier Harris had questioned a federal minister from Sabah for blaming the National Registration Department (NRD) for the illegal immigrants.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) is insisting that the government establish a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to find out why Sabah’s population has increased by nearly 400% in 40 years.

The party’s deputy president, Eric Majimbun, renewed the call after Dewan Rakyat Speaker  Pandikar Amin Mulia rejected his motion to discuss the issue. It was rejected in chambers, he told reporters.

'Project IC' whistleblower: Pakatan states at risk

A key figure in the 'Project IC' exposé warns that attempts to register illegal immigrants as citizens to pad up the electoral roll, a practice allegedly rampant in Sabah, will likely spread to peninsular Malaysia.

Dr Chong Eng Leong (right in photo), a former Parti Bersatu Sabah leader, said that his 15 years of research chronicled in his book 'Lest We Forget', estimates that about 600,000 illegal immigrants were given citizenship under the 'Project IC' scheme.

Chong, now a PKR member, warned that likely targets for an expansion of this scheme are the states ruled by Pakatan Rakyat - Selangor, Penang, Kedah and Kelantan.

Akjan held

Kota Kinabalu: Self-proclaimed Sultan of Sulu Datu Mohd Akjan Ati Mohd (pic) was arrested at his Likas home Sunday afternoon, upon returning from Kuala Lumpur, it was reliably learnt.

It is believed that Akjan, who saw himself installed as the 33rd Sultan of Sulu at a private coronation ceremony in Likas on Feb 2, this year, was held for further investigations.

He was previously held under the ISA for involvement in producing fake identity cards.

KOTA KINABALU: Activist and author Dr Chong Eng Leong has lodged a police report on the thousands of foreigners in Sabah who have suddenly become Malaysian citizens.

The former senator, a consultant surgeon, has taken it upon himself to correct what he sees as a gross disservice to the people of Sabah and a betrayal of the state.
