State should act against alongs and illegal immigrants

KOTA KINABALU: The State authorities should take action against the alongs from other states or for that matter illegal immigrants from coming into Sabah.

Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Youth Chief Edward Dagul said the latest debacle in the barring of Haris Ibrahim, President of MCLM, from entering Sabah had made many people ponder on the priorities of the authorities.

"Wouldn’t it be more beneficial for the people of Sabah if the relevant authorities, namely the Immigration department stop Ah Longs operatives from other states coming to Sabah?

"Or for that matter, to stop the influx of illegal immigrants entering the State?," he said in a statement here.

Edward said the reports in the local newspaper Daily Express today had confirmed what SAPP had feared.

It was reported that three moneylending premises were being probed by police.

He said SAPP had warned against the extension of the Money Lending Act 1951 in 2008 which arbitrarily replaced the Sabah Money Lenders Ordinance.

"The authorities then had claimed that the extension of the Money Lenders Act would enable them (the authorities) to be able to tackle unhealthy lending activities, loan sharks etc. but what was reported in the local news suggests otherwise.

"To many, if not all, in Sabah, the problems of Ah Longs and PTIs, are matters of State security.

"These directly threaten the livelihood of the rakyat and should be accorded top priorities whereas the barring of an NGO activist from entering Sabah under the lame excuse of State security is nothing more than a shameful act of political cowardice.

"Haris Ibrahim is a well known, respected civil liberty activist whose Bersih and MCLM roles have received wide acclaim. There is no basis for barring him from the State. He was a guest at SabahTV.net and as such, we will continue to welcome him.

  1. He has been barred, so what! What are you going to do about it! 1 thing about Sabahan, they do not aware with the political scenario of our country! If awareness is persistent, people would not give BN "fixed deposit". You need to change mindset & perception of the young underprivileged generation who do not have rich FAMA to send them overseas and get PR so that they will have greener pastures! Our education is a total disgrace, we have incompetent teachers from the west teaching our own people! Our own kadazandusun language are on the brink of extintcton, please political leaders who do still care of our own people, enough of the bickering & stop amassing your wealth, do something worthwhile for your people. Invest in our own people please, that's the way forward, we do not need west m'sia' policy!what we need is policies that will ensure that our own Sabahan being competitive and do have great deal of social responsibility and knowledge to make Sabah a green & lovely place for GENUINE SABAHAN!

  3. MY TOPICS IS AH LUNG IN SABAH.
    the amended moneylenders act 2010.
YES MANY SABAH GOVT SERVANT AND FEDERAL STAFF BORROW FROM THE MONEY LENDERS .THEY HOLD THE BORROWERS ATM CARD WITHDRAW EVERY GAJI DAY WAS TOLD 12% PER MONTH .I THEREFORE ASK THE SAPP SAVE OUR SABAHAN CIVIL SERVANT BY ASKING THEM TO LODGE A POLICE REPORT AND SUMMON THOSE MONEYLENDER LICENSED TO MAGISTRATES. AFTER LODGING THE POLICE REPORT THE I.O WILL ISSUE ALETTER IN KARAMUNSING TO BRING TO K.K. COURT.
i challenge you to to set up a bureau to help those being cheated by licensed moneylenders .why.they are al lung indeed.very simple they are licence moneylenders but carry out illegal lending once you failed to pay they will harass and intimidate them .recently one case a businessman lodge a police report against moneylender in sinsuran he offer a check 20k as a collateral .he pay up to over 20k.he was harass and even stick his i/c outside the premises.he got angry he lodge a police report and that moneylender was summon to court. i was told that he fax the police report to his office later the licensed collector agent call the businessman we are not scared we have backup .the businessman send the civil summon by registered post on the 29th nov .the case mention on the 5th dec 2011 before the magistrate .the moneylender lodge a counter report that the borrowers cheated him and mention never paid him. the truth he pay the moneylenders cash .the moneylenders was ask by the police prosecutors why u lodge this report .the licensed moneylender reply> my commercial crime police advise me and just said to the magistrates the moneylenders mention this businessman never pay him .he lie anyway his mention was recorded and cctv.the businessman said please refer to my furthur statement your honour .the businessman appeal to the magistrates for asking the licensed moneylenders from furthur harrassment and intimidation to his family.he fear for his life.i said to this businessman if he threaten again lodged a police report again as said by the honourable magistrates.
under the amended moneylenders act 2010 no 40 section 29aa the licensed had breach the rules and subjected to punished fine or otherwise.
the new act clearly defined moneylenders 1million fine and penalty and jail.
my sapp brother the moneylenders licensed charge murder high interest rate really kill and sabotage sabah economy.hope the police do not put the right to the criminal.mostly the moneylenders are from west malaysia and sarawak /i believe they do not have workpass and they should be subject to 6p programme as given to foreigners.
i therefore appeal to sapp to set up a bureau immediately to help the civil servant who had borrowed from those licensed moneylenders.
I PRAY AND HOPE SUPT CHANDRA WILL ACT STRICTLY WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR IN THE NAME OF ROYAL POLICE OF MALAYSIA OR ELSE THE LICENSED MONEYLENDERS WILL COME AGAIN TO THE OLD MONEYLENDING WAY.MY WORDS MAKE SENSE .
I WAS TOLD THAT THE BOMBA OFFICER OF SABAH MANY BEING EXPLOITED BY THEM AND OTHERS .ALL THIS AFFECTED BORROWERS ARE YOUR VOTERS FAMILY LAH .IT MAKES SENSE .BN CANNOT DO IT .NOW YOU SAPP PROOF TO THE THE VOTERS YOU BOLIH.THANKS .START YOUR WORK NOW INFORM THE PUBLIC NOW.NOW,THANKS MY VOTE FOR AND MANY THOUSAND VOTES OUT THERE FOR YOU.
