Felix quitting DAP lauded by Chinese activist

The decision by former DAP leader Dr Felix Chong in joining a Borneo-based State Reform Party (STAR) is laudable and a correct step taken by a patriotic local Chinese Sabahan, said state social and consumerism activist, Donny Yapp Tai Hua.

Yapp who himself is not yet a member of any political party, in a statement issued here today, said it is heartening to see a Chinese Sabahan with great leadership potential to throw his support to a known state right advocate like Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

"My point is Dr Jeffrey has been fighting for all of us Sabahans, regardless of our creed, and he deserves support from us the Chinese too. If not now then when else can we lend our hand to this misunderstood man who had suffered enough for Sabah to be heard? I hope Dr Felix will bring in more Chinese to STAR and really help Jeffrey in his struggle," said Yapp, 48, who was formerly a Deputy Treasurer of the now defunct-CASH or Consumer Association of Sabah.

The elusive Yapp also commend the plea made by another Chinese leader, Dr Chong Eng Leong, in which he pleaded to the Kadazandusun leaders in Barisan Nasional to do something to compel the BN to listen to the wishes of Sabahans, including on the setting up or RCI on illegal immigrants, in order to save Sabah from political ruin.

"All races in Sabah must unite to save Sabah for the future of our generations now under threat from illegal immigrants who are favoured by some in the ruling BN coalition. Even the Chinese business community is under threat from these immigrants one way or another," Yapp said adding that there are still many things those in the government could do to further help the people.

He said, for instance while the BR1M RM500 cash aid to deserving families is laudable, government leaders should also look at improving its deliveries in the next one, perhaps next year, if the government still wants to help these families.

"We should look at Australia's welfare management where it gives monetary aid to those unemployed. We must not necessarily copy this one but we could still consider giving aid of RM300 monthly to all the deserving senior citizens, including those Chinese from tax-paying families as one who pays tax doesn't mean one does not need aid from the government as goods prices and medical bills could be high," he said.

Yapp said, another issue of contention among the Chinese community in Sabah is the lack of scholarship to further study for deserving students with excellent school results.

  2. GOOD ON YOU FELIX

THINK AS A SABAHAN, FIGHT LIKE A SABAHAN, BE A SABAHAN!

Sabah patriots must fight for Sabah independence rights!

Since 1963, the paper rights in the 20 Points Agreement and Malaysia Agreement have been abused and by passed by UMNO BN to loot Sabah oil and gas and other rich natural resources.(All our Mamut copper gold and silvered robbed by Japan and UMNO!)

It does not make sense since Sabah is so rich but has been reduced by UMNO to be the poorest State! We could have been a well developed country for 48 years without Malaya looting us.

Sabah was to be an independent equal partner of Malaya. We know that Sabah has from being a 1/4 partner become the 1/13th part of Malaya! UMNO rules Sabah directly!

Mass transmigration and dirty politics has turned Sabah into rubbish dump.

Let us unite with the people of Sarawak who are also suffering from UMNO colonial rule to free our countries for independence. The Kinabalu guerrillas gave their lives for us- so we must not let them down!

Remember without Sabah and Sarawak there is no Malaysia!

But we have become Malayan colonies! We don't need Malaya to boss us around as the new colonial master!

Free Sabah & Sarawak for independence!

Let us unite to take Sabah and Sarawak out of Malaysia!

  3. LOOK NO FURTHER- SABAH IS RICH ENOUGH TO BE INDEPENDENT AND HAVE A GREAT HEALTH CARE SYSTEM & INFRASTRUCTURES!

WHY LET MALAYA LOOT US & WE HAVE TO BEG FOR SOME MONEY BACK.

ISN'T THAT BEING ABSOLUTELY SILLY IF NOT STUPID?

    SABAH INDEPENDENCE NOW!

  4. There are many people in this world and Sabah no less who have such thick skin that they would go all the way in
'polishing the shoes'of their benefactor to ensure that this benefactor will be standing on the frontline to be shot at while he is comfortably hiding behind the trees. This is what Donny Yapp is all about. He was throwing all kinds of praise towards Dr Felix Yong while he sits back and refrain from becoming a party member himself. If STAR is a good party why wait then.Only cowards would wait and root on the sideline and while his friend become the sacrificial lamb.Common sense tells us that he was also rooting for Felix when he was in DAP.This is a real opportunist of the worst kind and worthy of an Oscar for the role of the Emperor's court jester. In malay it means Badut.

    1. better still then the umno goon. enriched themselves with dirty money like there is no tomorrow. i can't see what is wrong with this guy yapp statement. all i can see is that mr.ap seems got his unfinished grudge to yapp. btw yapp is a former CASH strong man. and every Sabahan know that CASH, long time ago is a vocal ngo in criticizing whatever unjust policies and sometimes labeled as more to opposition then to government. so no wonder why this mr.ap guy so anti to mr.yapp. well, if i were an umno hardliner, will surely do the same. luckly i'm not.
