PKR is worse than Umno – Sitaun

KOTA KINABALU:  Former PKR Sepangar Chief, Felix Sitaun said he left the party for STAR because he saw STAR as the real hope for Sabah.

“I now fully believe that Sabah should be governed by local parties, not by parties from the Peninsular,” he said in statement here. “And I can see that if PKR rules Sabah, it will be even worse that the present Umno/BN state government.”

He said this is because PKR’s constitution and rules require that if it ruled the country, all local appointments must be made from Kuala Lumpur, from the appointment of the Chief Minister and all the way to the appointment of Ketuas Kampung and JKKK Chairmen.

“I was shocked when I found about this. And that caused me to lose faith in the party and for 18 months I was inactive due to my disappointment and sense of guilt,” Sitaun said. “After much soul searching I realized my true struggle is for the rights of the people of Sabah, not to promote colonialism by another Peninsular party like PKR.”

He said he would like to remind the acting PKR Sepangar chief, Timothy Thomas Lim, that the Malaysian Agreement promised Sabah self-rule, to be an independent nation in the Federation, not as one of the 13 states.

“And I would like to ask Lim and (Datuk Seri) Anwar (Ibrahim) what their stand is on the matter,” he asked. “If PR comes to power will Anwar continue to treat Sabah as one of the 13 states like Umno is treating Sabah now?”

He said that by saying the STAR cannot implement the 7-Point Borneo Agenda, he is saying Sabah should continue to be a colony of Malaya, and that he is not interested to fight for Sabah rights.

“By accusing STAR of making empty promises, Lim has started to sound like the BN who prefers to be a stooge of Kuala Lumpur,” Sitaun said. “As for STAR’s promises, the party has explained over and over again how the Borneo Alliance will implement its programs. And this will be laid out clearly in the forthcoming BA Manifesto.”

“What is difficult for Lim to explain is how Sabah PKR leaders can claim to fight for Sabah rights when the party they represent is a Peninsular party,” Sitaun said. “And where is the rationale for choosing a PKR-led state government which will be more autocratic than Umno?”

“In the case of a BA State government for Sabah and Sarawak, we will have the autonomy to amend the state laws, to create new ones in order to strengthen state powers,” he said. “We can then demand for higher oil royalty, and to solve the problem of illegal immigrants by enforcing the state’s rights over immigration matters.”

  1. Sabahan and Sarawakian open your eyes. Nobody will help you except you your self. Supporting Malaya parties will only perpetuate the colonisation of both states. Sabah for Sabahan does not mean west malaysian cannot come to sabah and do business, work or get married for that matter but merely to prevent malaya from dictating us politically, economically and socially.

  2. SAbah opposition sees federal
Opposition as their competitor in business sense.

This is a selfish n greed. They keep on painting a bad picture of PR or any peninsula party for that matter.

Don't ever try going to battle with BN like that. This will only give BN an easy win.

The pie is very big share some to PR by teaming up with them for better synergy.

I can't stop thinking STAR is an agent for BN by calling for rejection of peninsula opposition thus giving BN an upper way in a subtle way

I can't trust this jk the frog !!!!!!!

  3. PUT ASIDE YOUR DISTRUST.

SURE, WHILE SUSPICION OF STAR'S OBJECTIVE EXISTS - IT IS BETTER TO SEE IT AS MOVEMENT THAT GOES BEYOND SELF INTEREST & SINISTER UMNO CONSPIRACY. EVEN IF THIS IS SO, WE START PROMOTING THE LARGER AGENDA OF SABAH INDEPENDENCE.

USE IT AS A VEHICLE TO UNITE THE PEOPLE FOR INDEPENDENCE OR START ONE IF YOU CAN'T COPE WITH STAR! WE WILL SUPPORT ANY SUCH MOVE FOR GENUINE SABAH INDEPENDENCE.

WE SHOULD NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH. WE SHOULD WORK WITH ALL SABAH PARTIES WHICH PROMOTE SABAH INTEREST FIRST NOT FOREIGN MALAYA.

MALAYAN PARTIES LIKE UMNO HAVE PROMOTED MALAYAN INTEREST FIRST BY STEALING OUR OIL AND GAS TO DEVELOP MALAYA.

SO WE MUST NOW THINK OF SABAH FIRST!

THE BEST SOLUTION IS INDEPENDENCE FOR SABAH SO WE CAN STAUNCH THE BLEEDING OF OUR NATIONAL RESOURCES BY FOREIGN MALAYA.

Please the above typeface is not used to "SHOUT" by express ANGER over Malayan re-colonization of Sabah and also Sarawak.

  4. IF SITUAN IS SHOCKED BY PKR CONSTITUTION SUGGEST HE READS PAKATAN'S ELECTION AGENDA

PAKATAN STATED AGENDA is to more closely integrate Sabah and Sarawak into the Malayan political framework.

What does this mean? We are physically historically and culturally as far apart as the China Sea.

So its means Pakatan wants to make us "state" of Malaya not "equal partner".

But are we not suppose to be "equal partners" of 5 countries Malaya Singapore Brunei Sabah & Sarawak as was the original Malaysia plan?

Malaya changed the plan by sacking Singapore as the UMNO Malay supremacist leaders feared Singapore challenge to its dominance of Malaysia.

So "equal partner" Singapore was chucked out of Malaysia by the Tunku.

Since there is one partner less, Malaya grabbed the Singapore allocated number of seats and further outnumbered the Sabah Sarawak voting power in "parliament".

Everything has been arranged to favour Malaya- control of the government and civil service instead of Borneonization, siphoning of Sabah Sarawak resources and taxes to develop Malaya and not these 2 new colonies instead of the promised "development", independence replaced by dependence on Malaya...

Now it is claimed that the Malaysia Agreement is invalid or nullified by the sacking of Singapore. It should also be added that Brunei did not see it fit to come under Malayan rule. Both states were wise to be "out" and not "in". So 2 out of 5 "partners" are not in the federation.

In this case Malaya has no legal reason to hang on to Sabah and Sarawak.

This may explain why Pakatan wants to integrate Sabah and Sarawak because its leaders realise that the Malaysia Agreement is not binding.

We can walk free or stay on to be colonial subjects.

We already know what it is like to be colonial subjects!

Both Sabah and Sarawak must regain their real independence wiped out by being in Malaysia.

Sabah had brief independence on 31 August 1963 which was immediately absorbed or annexed by Malaya!

Sarawak has 100 years of independence from 1842 to 1942. Sarawak independence was recognized by tthe Brunei Sultanate from 1842, by the USA in 1850 and Britain in 1863. These are historical facts and happened before the Malayan Federation was ever thought of.

So whether Sabahans or Sarawakians we should not accept becoming colonies again.

We must all unite and work for the Malayan de-colonization of Sabah and Sarawak and for real national independence- not autonomy!

  6. Don't trust any political parties from Malaya.
What we need is local Sabah political parties to lead & safeguard the interest of ALL SABAHANS.
Political parties from Malaya don't give a shit about Sabahans. They only interested to continue to rape & plunder the vast natural resources of Sabah.

  7. We have already been screwed & treated like idiots by Malays since 1963... Time to wake up & smarten up

Except PAIRIN who briefly fought BN, since Harris until musa, non of our CM dare to voice out the unfair treatment of Sabah by Putrajaya.

As far as I am concerned I will not touch this man even with a 100 foot pole.Really 'dangerous' and untrustworthy to be a leader.

  11. This Sitaun is greedy n power crazy local politician. Typical opportunist without real will to fight for Rakyat. This is the typical Sabah politician that allows the state to be raped by BN for so long. He has no back bone he will sway where ever there is money n power for him to grab. Sorry PR is not rich as UMNO where he can get a lot being dishing out. That is why he said UMNO better than PR. Bad mouth your previous party does reflect the kind of personality unfit even being a friend.

  12. Felix Sitaun should not claim that his PKR Sipitang division will be abolished just to join Star when that is not the truth at all. This reminds me of Zaid Ibrahim who claims that he will abolish his Kita party to give support to PKR. Both of their decision does not protect the interests of their party members.

  13. Star be careful of what sort of characters you received into your party, don't be too desperate for members.
