Furthermore, he also demands an explanation as to what is “Realized Loss on sale of Investment”, amounting to RM 31 million (to be exact RM 31,124,228.00) as stated on page 22 of SAS Annual Report 2011. There is no detail provided for this “Realized Loss on sale of Investment” in this report.
Referring to yesterday news reported at Daily Express on 20 March 2012 carrying with a title “RM24m gain for Saham Sabah” from the performance for the first two and half months (started from Jan to 15 March) period of 2012 which represented an increase of 3.18 per cent increase in KLSE index from 1,530.73 (as at 31 Dec 2011) to 1,579.38 (as at 15 March 2012) and SAS declared an interim income distribution of 1.90% per unit for this year.
He queries that what about when the BURSA positive performance of year 2011, BURSA index opening at 1524.53 points from 3 Jan 2011 and closing at 1530.73 points as at 31 Dec 2011 but why SAS investment team making a BIG LOSS of RM20 million in 2011 investment?
He is also questioning on the unprecedented interim income distribution based on the first 2.5 months (Jan 2012 to 15 Mar 2012) performance which looks odd and utterly iffy which is not a NORMAL industrial practice.
The biggest question now is why has SAS remained stagnant even though after 14 years of Asian Financial Crisis as other unit trust and stock prices have recovered to its original value or higher? Additionally there is RM 200 million funds injected into SAS from the UMNO led-BN government few years ago. Clement Lee asked.
Clement Lee lamented that SAS investors strongly demands an explanation from Deputy Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai who used to be vocal and active in championing the SAS issue, a self proclaimed SAS expert, and by restlessly and relentlessly accusing the former Chief Minister as the cause of SAS downfall. He is instead of now missing in action and keeping mum and quiet about it?
Please bear in mind that we are not against SAS declaring dividends to the investors, he concluded.

According to Securities Commission Constitutions for UNIT TRUST (SAS). No one can approve the buy-sell of SAS share except the SAS chairman which is Datuk Salleh during that time when SAS dropped to almost 10 cent from RM1.

DeleteSSB Chairman Maijol Mahap said the interim income distribution for the SAS this year is RM1.90 per unit and investors are due to receive their payout this April 15th. At least its better than having nothing at all. Hope to see better payouts for our investments in the near future.

Don't know who is exactly should responsible, but one thing for sure there are llots of people involved, including YTL.
