Jeffrey cannot claim to speak for Borneo: PKR

TAMPARULI: A recent debate organised by NGO Desah on whether a state or national party is the solution to solving Sabah's problems saw Star (State Reform Party) being asked as to who gave its Sabah chapter President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan the right to claim to represent Borneo through his Borneo Agenda.

This is in account of Borneo being vast and including Kalimantan and Brunei.

Moderated by Dr Arnold Puyok of UiTM, some 200 mostly supporters of the two parties thronged the Tamparuli Recreation Club for the debate between Pajudin Nordin of PKR and Edward Linggu of Star.

Star countered by asking who gave the mandate for Pakatan Rakyat to write their Buku Jingga manifesto?

Star contended that West Malaysian parties do not have Sabah's best interests at heart with PR being no better than another BN exploitive clone.

Pajudin replied that all leaders and the supporters contributed to the Buku Jingga and that had Jeffrey been with PR, his signature would have been included as well.

PKR's Pajudin pointed out that Star was a resurrected Sarawak import that was rejected by Sarawakians with its candidates losing their deposits in the elections.

"Star is a party formed to champion the Dayaks," he said, noting there were some Star supporters in the audience with the Sarawak flag on their sleeves.

He was also blunt in accusing Star of being a spoiler.

Star retorted by branding PR a Malayan political coalition which should rightly be confined within the shores of Malaya as was agreed between leaders during the formation of Malaysia to vie for only 65pc of the parliamentary seats while Sabah and Sarawak were rightly entitled to 35 percent of the parliamentary seats as a check and balance system to avoid concentrating two-third majority in Malaya for KL to change the constitution at its whims and fancies.

PKR came prepared with their own vocal cheerleaders puncturing the debate session with shouts of "Reformasi" and "Lain Kali-lah" every time Star supporters shouted "Ini kali-lah".

Star revealed one of their ideas to be implemented once taking over Sabah - the formation of a Native Land Foundation to buy over distressed NT lands on foreclosure or from owners until they redeemed them later with means acquired thereafter.

Star Sabah head Dr Jeffrey had mentioned in the first debate that the party aspired to be a kingmaker working with either the BN or PR in power to regain Sabah's autonomy and rights as an equal partner in the Federation of Malaysia comprising Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak.

PKR asked the audience to ponder whether was it realistic for Star to be able to affect all the desired changes without changing the structure of the Federal Government.

  1. SARAWAKIANS SUPPORT SABAH STAR LEADERSHIP IN STRUGGLE FOR INDEPENDENCE RIGHTS

Some of us are stupid to trust any Malayan parties since even the opposition still treat us as colonies as seen in the recent Pakatan "Shadowy Cabinet" line-up.

    What so great about PKR?

It is not even a Sabah or Sarawak Party. It is a foreign party which as seen above will represent Malayan interests just as UMNO!

As equal partners in Malaysia Sabah and Sarawak are powerless board members with not real votes despite our role as paymasters and economic importance to Malaya! Just colonies!

We must rely on ourselves to win back our right to national independence !

    INI KALI LAH!

    3. STAR may not be bright in Sarawak because of lack lustre leas=dership but it is certainly blazing in Sabah- nothing wrong with that!

The most important thing is that Sabah has leaders who are prepared to strongly fight for Sabah rights especially for independence.

Jeffrey has declared the Party's stand for independence. He cannot backtrack.

      We support him.

  5. The shadow cabinet list, even not confirmed, shows PR's attitude towards the Borneo states. There are some in the opposition who know whats good for Borneo but there are many perhaps who don't have a clue. Although one of the main aims, we can agree upon, is to remove BN/UMNO. The thing is every party have their own ideas on how this can be done and the other is agreeing on what each wants after the first aim has been achieved. At the moment, I am leaning towards STAR but I would like STAR to make a stance. Is STAR going for autonomy or independence? Has PR agreed to the agreements? 20% oil revenue is a joke! No doubt STAR threads a dangerous road if they go to battle alone. The same could be said with a STAR-PR alliance. Although gaining ground, is STAR strong enough to remove BN and become the next government? I must admit, they do need help in picking up the pace even more or especially when it comes to planning and actual policies. No doubt, Sabahans are good enough to steer their country towards a better future but the right crew are needed to manage the ship. There will be a lot of questions. I challenge Jeffery Kitingan to make it official. Just say the word. We are ready! We want to help manage the ship. We are not afraid anymore. All local leaders who are true to the Sabahan cause, unite as one. We support PR to battle it out in their own turf. We support Sarawak too!

      http://wikisabah.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/we-are-all-frogs-even-musa-and-pairin.html

He clearly declares the STAR party is for Sabah independence. There is no going back on this!

Let us all unite behind those who champion Sabah independence and not be divided on the small issues and bad mouthing by some readers.

If these critics want to criticise then make clear why we should not have Sabah independence.

OR give good reasons why we should stay in Malaysia under UMNO BN colonial domination!?

  14. The question of choosing a government is a question of the people giving a 5 years mandate to lead the country and not 5 days which we choose now and if we do not like the way the country is governed we change it the next day. we choose a government not just for us, but a government that is able to protect the rights and well being of our children and grandchildren. the allegations of the opposition that the BN government is cruel to the people is simply slander designed to mislead the people so that they would not support the BN government.
