Sabah DAP changes tone on Lajim and Bumburing
Sabah DAP today extended its welcome former BN parliamentarians Lajim Ukin and Wilfred Bumburing who left the ruling coalition recently to work with the opposition "to bring change to Sabah".
Both MPs have already expressed their willingness to work together with Pakatan Rakyat.
"DAP Sabah supports the move by the two MPs and had sent its representatives, led by state DAP secretary Dr Edwin Bosi and state publicity secretary Chan Foong Hin, to the launch of ‘Angkatan Perubahan Sabah' and 'Pakatan Perubahan Sabah' in Tuaran and Beaufort respectively on July 29.
"DAP Sabah supports the statement by PR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim that Pakatan welcomes anyone or any party to join with it in order to bring change to Sabah," Sabah DAP chairperson Jimmy Wong said in a statement.
Wong's remarks come after the earlier, not-so-friendly words of Sabah DAP adviser Hiew King Cheu, who questioned why Lajim and Bumburing remained members of parties in the ruling coalition despite resigning from their posts.
The duo jolted Umno and BN when they announced their leaving the ruling coalition last weekend, with the opposition saying that Sabah may no longer be a ‘fixed deposit' for the ruling coalition.
However, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has downplayed the matter.
The Sabah DAP's support Lajim and Bumburing follows the less congenial remarks to Oriental Daily News by Hiew (left), who is also Kota Kinabalu MP, that the duo should have resigned from BN if they were really against the coalition.
If the duo were sincere, Hiew said, they should have right away drawn a clear line between themselves and the BN by giving up all party and government posts, and joining Pakatan.
Lajim and Bumburing may not be the last of the Sabah MPs to jump ship from BN, as Anwar has hinted of more ‘good news' to come from the East Malaysian state soon.

ReplyDeleteBUMBURING : Ada beberapa sebab.
Apabila saya suarakan hasrat rakyat, saya dianggap pembangkang.
ReplyDeleteLAJIM : Sambutan rakyat Sabah cukup memberangsangkan. Saya mendapat maklum balas dari rakan-rakan di peringkat akar umbi bahawa rakyat pelbagai kaum inginkan perubahan. Terutamanya perubahan status kerajaan.
Deletebelum nampak lagi kejuaraan mereka tu.
ReplyDeleteTHE TRUTH IS THAT SARAWAK & SABAH WILL JUST REMAIN DEPENDENCIES OF MALAYA IN THE MALAYSIA FEDERATION
DeleteWhat can DAP offer us which is different from the vomit UMNO spews out? UMNO DAP or PKR will continue to hold us under bondage and keep us dependent on them.
This can be understood by a reading of the Theory of Dependency as in Sabah and Sarawak’s examples of being made dependent on Malaya for their economic survival… “Malaysian” development is modelled on that of a third world economy tied to the idea of the Western capitalist development theory spelt out for former colonies and generally dictated by the World bank and other similar bodies.
Sarawak and Sabah are caught up in this development as dependencies or colonies of Malaya,
Source: Wikipedia- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependency_theory
Dependency theory or dependencia theory is a body of social science theories predicated on the notion that resources flow from a “periphery” of poor and underdeveloped states to a “core” of wealthy states, enriching the latter at the expense of the former. It is a central contention of dependency theory that poor states are impoverished and rich ones enriched by the way poor states are integrated into the “world system.”
The theory arose as a reaction to modernization theory, an earlier theory of development which held that all societies progress through similar stages of development, that today’s underdeveloped areas are thus in a similar situation to that of today’s developed areas at some time in the past, and that therefore the task in helping the underdeveloped areas out of poverty is to accelerate them along this supposed common path of development, by various means such as investment, technology transfers, and closer integration into the world market.
Dependency theory rejected this view, arguing that underdeveloped countries are not merely primitive versions of developed countries, but have unique features and structures of their own; and, importantly, are in the situation of being the weaker members in a world market economy, whereas the developed nations were never in an analogous position; they never had to exist in relation to a bloc of more powerful and economically advanced countries than themselves.
Dependency theorists argued, in opposition to free market economists and modernization theorists, that underdeveloped countries needed to reduce their connectedness with the world market so that they can pursue a path more in keeping with their own needs, less dictated by external pressures as, for example, the People’s Republic of North Korea has done.[1]
The premises of dependency theory are that:
- Poor nations provide natural resources, cheap labor, a destination for obsolete technology, and markets for developed nations, without which the latter could not have the standard of living they enjoy.
- Wealthy nations actively perpetuate a state of dependence by various means. This influence may be multifaceted, involving economics, media control, politics, banking and finance, education, culture, sport, and all aspects of human resource development (including recruitment and training of workers).
- Wealthy nations actively counter attempts by dependent nations to resist their influences by means of economic sanctions and/or the use of military force.
- Dependency theory states that the poverty of the countries in the periphery is not because they are not integrated into the world system, or not ‘fully’ integrated as is often argued by free market economists, but because of how they are integrated into the system.
It is classified under the sociological theories of mass communication.

In other words Sarawak and Sabah are still colonies.
Trust readers have found this explanation enlightening. It has been around before many of us were born.

ReplyDeleteKeep on crawling....and be a slave of UMNO BN!
DeleteKAU PATI MEMANG LAH SOKONG PENUH,KAMINI ORANG SABAH KAN UNDI PEMBANGKANG ,ANAK PETAGAS KUNU........
DeleteSOKONG UMNO!SOKONG BN! Ayuh! Hapuskan penghianat!
ReplyDeleteDAP KK Member of Parliament Dr tembirang hiew who is also the only one DAP Central EXCO Committee from Sabah said he does not support KATAK Lajim and wilfred bumburing to join PR.
ReplyDeleteNow a pea-sized brain dr animal edwin bohsia with a small position as sabah branch secretary says he support the two KATAK.
A small little tiny Sabah DAP team with only 18 members in Sabah can't even speak on the same tune. How can we let such party sampah sarap to rule Sabah?
Bagus kau pegi kumur mulut kau tu.... ahakks...
ReplyDeleteTumbangkan umNO/bn.....!!! Tukaaar....!!!
BN's collapse has started. It's God's will. After all the people own the country and elect the gov't to SERVE, not to rob them.
ReplyDeleteUMNO leaders are always creating and raising false issues. Treating people like fools. These morons - the greatest disgrace to Malaysia. These won't last 3 months in bersih, democratic countries like NZ, Aust, US, UK & Canada; and you've given them 55 years & lost what experts assessed at over US100billion = RM300,000million = RM300,000,000,000.
Gerrymandering. Frauds in electoral roll with aliens, duplicates & phantoms. Buying & bribing…all using your money!. Biased EC Chiefs from UMNO. Unfair monopoly of media, heli, vehicles, boats, venues & resources. All using your money to destroy you! BN/UMNO will LOSE BIG. For those low lives & criminals, God' s nemesis will prevail. Look at Gaddafi , then Assad, when Syrians wanted fair & free elections, Assad said there were foreign terrorists wanting to topple the Gov't… now he kills them. Gaddafi and Assad weren't even democratically elected! Just like your PM - handed down from Daddy! Even watching from afar, we have reached the brink now: We call the most horrific curse on those criminals.
Even in far-away, neutral New Zealand we are boiling mad, your BN Gov’t is outrageously crooked and dishonest, & for how many decades now! GOSH! Horrific plunder and robbery, skinning & fleecing the whole country. eg Taib in Sarawak, holding 3 supreme portfolios of Chief Minstr, Finance Minstr & Planning & Resources Minister, plundering for 31 yrs. Your PM pretends nothing’s there…..now he revenges on Rafizi for the NFC cows, even after 3 murders: Ross Boyert (Taib’s former US aide), Manser (native & rainforest activist) & Altantuyaa (Scorpene $$ claimant), & after BN lost over RM300billion in 55 yrs. Yr PM flies a new RM200m plane & Taib rides Rolls Royce. In NZ our PM flies 2nd Class; here Taito P Field, an MP was jailed for a few years for corruption (using Thai immigrants to paint his houses). How long would yr Dr MM, Najib, Taib all the BN/UMNO/PBB cronies, MACC, Police chiefs last in a democratic country like NZ, Aus, UK, US or Canada before going to jail? 1 mth? You elected yr Gov’t to serve you, how can you tolerate them for another day!
ReplyDeleteWe see too clearly from a neutral & democratic New Zealand. BN/UMNO will LOSE BIG. For those low lives & criminals, God' s nemesis will prevail. Gaddafi and Assad weren't even democratically elected! Just like your PM - handed down from Daddy! KL has been sucking Sarawak & Sabah’s blood. What development? Even watching from afar, we have reached the brink now: We call the most horrific curse on those criminals. The people's power, the people's day will come.

Keep it up Alan- foreign input is refreshing- especially when foreigners also think the crooks should be hung draw and quartered for their crimes against the people.
DeleteIf we still haven't realised it after 49 years- Sabah and Sarawak are occupied and ruled by foreigners from Malaya...who have been stealing our resources to develop Malaya and fatten UMNO fat cats who got their suckers locked into Sabah and Sarawak oilfields.
Any Sabahans who crawls before the foreign Malayans & UMNO crooks are traitors.
Just watch your backs. These traitors may stab you in the back on behalf of their foreign masters!
You can easily ID them by the pathetic and slavish manner they bow and scrap for their masters....
Alan Newman : You certainly have a good points. BTW thank you very much for your support. We appreciated it. We (sabahans)really want to get rid of BN especially Umno regim.
ReplyDeleteIni kalilah.....!!!! Tukaaaar...!!!!!!!!
We do not need any foreign opinions in our internal politics. Please take care of your own backyard.Do not compare us to NZ,Canada or the US.We never send our soldiers to occupy foreign lands and kill innocent civilians in other countries on false pretences. We do not send commandos by helicopters, intruding into foreign country and assasinate political leaders. What we do in our own country is our business.More than that the people here are educated enough to determine the type of government we want, therefore there is no necessity for any political lessons that we deem as insulting and humiliating our intelligence.
ReplyDeletebetul cakap ko AP....!!! sebenarnya kan kita tak memerlukan orang luar seperti PATI ini, Jahanam PATI keluar kamu dari Sabah dan balik ke tempat asalmu... kita boleh uruskan kawasan rumah kita sendiri tanpa PATI bah... bikin semak ja ni PATI. Undian untuk BN konon. B end lah...
DeleteTUUUUKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR......................!!!!!
WHOSE COUNTRY?
DeleteWhat vile evil things the Malayans are doing in our country Sabah (& also Sarawak) is the concern of all justice minded people in this world!
What say you about those millions of illegals/foreigners UMNO has allowed in OUR country Sabah?
Isn't that humiliating for the poor illegals exploited by UMNO cronies as cheap labour in their colonial plantation economy and for Sabahans who have to put up with the UMNO shit Malay supremacist apartheid policies?
The truth is that UMNO Malaya sent its army to invade Sabah and Sarawak in 1963 and has occupied these countries as colonies ever since.
The "gov't" is rigged up by UMNO under the pretence of democratic elections.
One point that Alan Newman misses out is that for all his criticisms he has not seen through Malaysia as a new colonial system to keep Sabah and Sarawak as colonies.
So give us good reasons why Sabah and Sarawak should not get out of Malaysia?
Tidak boleh membandingkan Sabah kepada NZ, Canada dan US. Bagaikan membandingkan pisang dengan epal.
DeleteAnak Petagas, listen to SERUKAN NAMANYA and JANJI DITEPATI on YOUTUBE. It can be a gauge of sort of intelligence
ReplyDeleteAnak Petagas : even if you are clever, you still can't bring 'us' the rakyat to vote for umNO/B end.
ReplyDeleteWE the rakyat of Malaysia in Sabah are more genius and WE know who to choose to be our next Government and who to put as an Opposition Leader in Malaysia.
Tukar Bah...........!!! Tukaaaaar.....!!!
iiiiiiiinni kalilah.....!!!!!

Deletekhabar angin saja tu...
Deletekabar angin tidak payah lah mau percaya betul.
Deleteini hnya kabar angin, tapi harap ia tak benar.
DeleteKhabar angin sahaja tu, rasanya pemimpin lain akan setiasa bersama BN.
DeleteS'wak rep quits BN to join rebel party = Mkini
DeleteLajim and Bumburing might not plan to join any opposition party, they plan to form their own Sabah Reform Movement and Sabah People's Front.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't the local oppositions just unite? What is they trying to do?
Deletekenapa? sebab pemimpin mereka masing2 ada agenda tersendiri...mana mungkin diorang mahu kerjasama sebab kerjasama bermaksud memusnahkan impian mereka jadi KM sabah...
DeleteBanyaknya parti di Sabah. Undi rakyat pun terbagi-bagi.
DeleteHaaa again Lajim and Bumburing...i just wonder what was their achievement when they still in UMNO?? I didn't see any achievement made by them for the people. So how can the opposition still want them to join the party? I just don't understand.
Deletetukar bah......!!!!
TUUUUUUKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR................!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(saya bukan anti kerajaan bah tapi saya ndak suka BN memerintah di Sabah)
kalau sudah tau kenapa mau jadi MP lagi? pandai2 saja ko cakap baaaa mcam lembu...mungkin dorg juga yang mau jadi lembu....abis tidak brani mau jadi kerbau yang kuat menanduk....eh... kenapa juga kalau bersuara? kena gantung ka? kalau c masidi, c pairin bercakap ok juga tu dorg.. kena dengar juga....aiii dari dorg saja ba tu mau bersuara @ tidak. na kenapa lajim sama Bumburing bulih tahan lama? kalau sudah sedar tidak dpat bersuara dari dulu kenapa tidak keluar dari dulu lagi....tamaha kuasa la nama dia tu....naaaaa sekarang bila mau kena ganti suda memberontak, tidak mau kena ganti trus mengugut mau keluar BN....skali tgo skill dorg tidak menjadi. ingat kena pujuk la tapi....jgn harap laaaaa....hahahah ketawa saja la.....
DeletePembangkang terdesak, ambik pemimpin recycle...
