'Datuk Seri' on cops' wanted list to assist investigations

LAHAD DATU: One Datuk Seri Ridzwan Sulaiman is currently high up on the cop’s most wanted list.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said the man who is believed to be from Penang is highly sought by the police as he will help in the investigations of the Sulu invaders in Lahad Datu.

Hamza said there are currently not a lot of information available about the man but he hopes the public will help the national security forces to track him down.

“We know that Ridzwan’s last job was the president of Al Ehsan Islamiah Malaysia Welfare Association. Apart from that, we only have his photograph and no other information.

“Those who know of this man, please lodge a police report. The man can also surrender himself at nearby police stations,” he said at a press conference in Felda Sahabat today.

Meanwhile, Hamza said that there were no gun battles today.

“So far, there are 101 families which have been relocated from evacuation centres to Kampung Tanjung Labian. Another 25 families were relocated to Kampung Tanjung Batu and 54 families were relocated to Kampung Sungai Borah,” he said.

He added that the mopping up exercise in Kampung Sungai Bilis, Lok Sembuang dan Lok Buani will be continued.

“So far a total of 127 Sulu terrorists have been detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) 2012 Act (Sosma) while 327 people have been arrested under other Acts.

“Those charged in court remain as eight,” he said.
