Kidnapped Taiwanese tourist rescued by Philippines security forces

KUALA LUMPUR - The Philippines security forces has successfully rescued the Taiwanese woman kidnapped from Pom Pom Island off Sabah on Nov 15, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim today.

Khalid in his Tweet offered his congratulations to the successful rescue of 58-year old Chang An Wei.

He said they would wait for further development from the Philippines authorities.

In the 1am incident on Nov 15, a group of gunmen raided the water villas of Pom Pom Island Resort and Spa and killed Chang's live-in partner Li Min Hsu and abducted her.

The nearest island in the Philippines is Pulau Malamanuk where she was believed to have been taken.
