Amok woman re-arrested a day after hospital escape

Police today rearrested Muhdalenna Ahmad, the woman who escaped from police custody at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru yesterday.

The 30-year-old woman was picked up in Ayer Keroh, Malacca early this morning, reports the New Straits Times.

Muhdalena made headlines two years ago when she allegedly ran amok with a sword-wielding man, Khalil Afendi Abd Hamid outside the B Complex of the Prime Minister’s Department two years ago.

It was reported that she had given birth at the hospital three days ago, after being transferred from Hospital Permai in Tampoi.

She was reported missing after failing to return to her ward at around 8.50am on Thursday. She had earlier asked permission to go to the toilet.

In July 2012, Muhdalena and her partner, Khalil were reported to have run amok outside the complex, wielding samurai swords and were later shot.

Khalil later died from his injuries.

Muhdalena was later accused of committing criminal intimidation by threatening to cause grievous hurt to a policeman, possession of a sword, and two additional charges under the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959.
