Public Indecency: Part-time model mentally fit to stand trial

KUALA LUMPUR - The magistrate's court found a part-time model mentally fit to stand trial over her alleged public stripping at Petaling Street four months ago.

Magistrate Nur A'minahtul Mardiah Md Nor made the ruling today after having read the psychiatric evaluation report of accused Persana Avril Sollunda.

Persana, 32, was previously ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Perak.

The court set three days from Jan 11 next year for hearing. It also set Aug 27 this year for exchange of documents.

Deputy public prosecutor Noor Svetlana Mohd Noor Nordin prosecuted while counsel Kevin Tan Kim Kwong acted for Persana.

On April 28, Persana, who is also a Sabahan spa worker, claimed trial to committing public indecency during a quarrel over a RM18 bill at a food stall in Petaling Street on April 23.

She allegedly committed the offence along the road at Jalan Petaling, Dang Wangi here around 2.07pm on April 23.

A video recording of the alleged incident went viral online.
