Sarawak copter crash: Second body found

KUCHING - The Search and Rescue (SAR) team today found another body, believed to be from the helicopter mishap.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department, which confirmed the matter in a statement, said that the body of a man was found at 8.31am.

To date, the body is yet to be identified.

At noon yesterday, the remains of the first victim, Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Noriah Kasnon was found on the banks of Sungai Batang Lupar near Sebuyau, about 30km from Lingga.

Among other passengers in the ill-fated helicopter were Plantation Industries and Commodities Secretary-general Datuk Dr Sundaran Annamalai and Noriah's husband Asmuni Abdullah.

Others on board were Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad who is also Malaysian Palm Oil Board chairman, Noriah's bodyguard Ahmad Sobri Harun and Filipino pilot Rudolf Rex Ragas.
