Dr Max's Janji Terang Bulan

SAPP Youth finds it a callous act for the MP for Kota Marudu cum Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Datuk Dr. Maximus Ongkili to have yet again attempted to reassure the rakyat that BN will resolve the native land claims. He even tried to portray to the people of Pitas that all is well in neighbouring Kota Marudu, to the extent of advising them to emulate the "model for a resolution".


The fact is that Datuk Dr. Maximus has been making promises after promises that a solution is in sight to the overlapping claims of land in Kota Marudu affected by the Begaraya Sdn. Bhd. concession. By gosh, Dr. Max has been MP for the area ever since 1995. He has been endowed with much power by virtue of being a federal minister ever since 2004. He is after all the most senior PBS leader after the 'Huguan Siou'. What has he been doing all these years? Why should this most recent land resolution announcement be considered to be true by the rakyat? 

At the Dewan Undangan Negeri in April, Tandek Assemblywoman Anita Baranting had complained that thousands of acres of lands in Kota Marudu were approved without going through the Land Utilisation Committee (LUC). Anita said that 18,000 acres is too small to accommodate the 28 villages involved. This is a direct contradiction to what Dr. Max announced in July that 18,000 acres of communal titles will be issued. 

Another mistake of Dr. Max is in claiming that the Begaraya concession was approved in 1997. In fact, and known publicly, is that the land was approved by the then Chief Minister on March 19, 1996. After that, with the rotation of the Chief Minister post in May 1996, the power to approve land was taken away from the CM to the Cabinet as a condition for the UMNO leader to let go of the CM post.

If there is genuine political will to solve the Kota Marudu land issue, it would have been solved a long time ago. As it is, Kota Marudu folks think that the recent promises of a solution are merely for election purposes, a case of "Janji terang bulan". After all, Dr. Max has made the same promises in 2004 and 2008 general elections.

    Anyway, lets just hope that the issue can be resolved as soon as possible to give assurance to the land owners.

    isu tanah di KM sudah mencapai penyelesaian menang-menang...
    tidak perlu mana2 pihak termasuk SAPP mempolitikkan isu ini..ianya sudah selesai..

    and now, we see that the land issue in KM solved with win2 solution...

    no need to politicizing the land issue...what we need is a solution and that's what dr max have been done in KM..

    musang bin tidak aman adalah perompak tanah paling besar di Sabah. Rakyat Sabah mesti tolak pakistan musang bin tidak aman jadi bumiputra palsu di Sabah.

    Dimana undang2 Sabah menyatakan pakistan boleh jadi bumiputra Sabah dan boleh beli tanah NT di Sabah?

    Kaki pengampu umno hanya tahu sokong babi buta sama perompak barisan najis tetapi mana peduli kesusahan orang kampung kita? Kamu tunggulah ketulahan kamu suatu hari nanti.

    Kalau melibatkan soal tanya, tunding jari bukanlah hal yang terbaik. Ia hanya akan timbnulkan maslaah baru kalau asyik nak tunding jari pada pihak lain.

    isu tanah di KM sudah mendapat penyelesaiannya.. apa pun harap setiap isu yang berlaku akan diselesaikan dan kepentingan semua dapat dijaga.

    Selagi isu tanah rampasan ini tidak selesai selagi itu pelbagai isu akan dikeluarkan oleh pihak lain demi kepentingan mereka sendiri.

    siapa la yang sanggup mengaku kesalahan.. yang pasti lebih dari 1 juta hektar tanah beralih tangan ketika ytl jadi cm sabah hanya dalam tempoh 3 tahun.. kalau bukan kuasa ytl untuk meluluskan, kenapa tidak halang?

    Land owners are advised to check the documents from time to time to ensure that property and land ownership is not transferable without being detected.
